This was a great tour. Our guide knew quite a bit about mining. Price is a little on the high side. I suggest not to wear flip flops as the tunnels are wet. Overall, this tour, and the whole town of Silverton was very interesting.

One of the better things we have done in Durango/Silverton. Kids got to pan for gold and gemstones while we waited for the tour. We were all given hardhats and rain slickers with fun miner names on them. Once dressed we rode the little tram...More

Both my husband and I have been in mines before where we were dropped in the shaft. Of course, they're all different depending on how accessible. This mine you entered in by a small train. It was really neat and our kids enjoyed it. Not...More

You ride a mine cart train down into the mine (after being issued the super sexy hard hat and yellow slicker) and get out to begin the tour. A guide takes you through and explains and demonstrates. Can't speak for all guides, but the one...More

Our guide was funny and knew everything about mining. Great experience for the kids which were on our tour. And the landscape you get to see until you're in Silverton is stunning.

Our guide was funny and very informative. Considering you in a mine there was a lot of room and light so you didn't feel closed in much. Nice to see how the miners worked and what they each did to get the rock out. The...More

We arranged for the mine guide to pick us up a couple blocks from the train station and take us to the mine. You may want to contact them and see if they will do the same for you.

No I would think not. The ride down is very tight close quarters as well as some areas below.

Hi, The Old Hundred Goldmine is located about 5 miles from Silverton. I will suggest a taxi. You can ask at the Visitor Center ind Silverton, if there is any other way to get to the mine. Have a nice trip. D.
