Bill Redwood runs an excellent company, with llamas for rent either as guided trips or do-it-yourself. I've done two trips with Redwood Llamas, without guides, and was delighted to have llamas carry all my backpack gear! The llamas are well-trained and easy to work with, and they make getting into the backcountry of the San Juan Mtns a real pleasure. Highly recommended!

I have been renting llamas from Bill Redwood for many years. Every summer we rent llamas and go on a week-long trip to various destinations in the Weminuche Wilderness. The llamas are great. We have had no problems with them. They are easy to pack, lead and take care of at camp. I would rather hike than ride a horse, but I would rather not hike carrying a 50 lb. backpack. The llamas are perfect for me. Bill is great to work with. He is always on time to meet you at the trailhead when you are going in and especially when you come out of the wilderness after a long week and are ready for a cold beer.

Rented two Llamas to take up to Emerald Lake 9/2017. Bill Redwood delivered the Llamas on time and trained us on how to load , unload and care for the Llamas. He was very patient and took his time to make sure we were comfortable with the Llamas. The Llamas were absolutely no problem to deal with they just walk with you up the trail and then just hang out when your not walking or fishing or whatever. Used to carry heavy packs but getting to old for that. Llamas solve that problem. Bill came and picked up the Llamas on time. Had absolutely no issues. Highly recommend.

Redwood Llamas is a great company to work with. They give a detailed "how to" tutorial, are cheap, with great low maintenance llamas. I would recommend them and most defiantly use them again!

Highland Mary Lakes, 8/15-18/16. Three generations: grandparents, daughter and son-in-law and 1.5 year old grandson who was fascinated by Charlie Hackbarth's llamas. Everyone had a ball. No issues. Great experience. Highly recommended!
