Just a quick message to share how appreciative I am of High Country Tours understanding and flexibility. My family and I went to Breckenridge over the Christmas/New Year holiday to ski and have our first snowmobiling experience. After reviewing the available snowmobile excursion companies, I landed on High Country because of their numerous top rated reviews and based on a number of live conversations I had with their booking team (wasn't sure what would be the best tour for my family). Ultimately, we booked the 2-hour tour with snow tubing. The family was excited for the adventure but unfortuntately the day of our tour, we were unable to leave our condo. It snowed 9 inches overnight and being from Missouri, driving in mountainous/icy conditions is not something we are familar with. Our SUV is only 2-wheel drive so we definitely didn't want to risk it. The challenge is that I had paid in full, in advance and this was our last day in Colorado before heading home, therefore there was no way I would be able to rebook later in the week. What I assumed would be a situation where I would just get a credit for a future excursion (completely understand this, but was hoping I would get credited - not sure when we will get to Colorado again) I called High Country and explained my situation. What I was most impressed with was their understanding and concern regarding our safety. While they helped us with suggestions on how we could still get there (shuttle services, etc) ultimately, it didn't pan out as they were all booked. After I followed up letting them know this, they again stressed that they didn't want us to push it and drive if we didn't feel comfortable doing so. They then let me know that they would connect with the owner and see what they could do. Again, I anticipated a credit as understandably, the weather was out of their control. To my suprise, High Country called me back and let me know that they would provide a credit for full payment on my credit card. As you probably know, (if you're reading this, you've probably done some research) regardless of company chosen, snowmobile excursions are not inexpensive. Their willingess to offer a full credit was most appreciated. I believe this experience represents first, their commitment to the safety of their customers and secondly, the commitment to customer service and willingness to accomodate. As I did my research in chosing a snowmobile tour company I came across two to three other options. No doubt, I chose the right one. And while mother nature didn't allow us the opportunity to have the High Country experience, there is no question, when we get back to Colorado, I will be booking again with High Country! Thanks!

Family and I booked a 2 hour high adventure tour with High Country Tours at their Birdeye’s location near Leadville. Charlie was our guide and he couldn’t have been any better. He was extremely thorough, patient, professional and made it clear that our safety was of utmost importance to him. He explained everything in great detail before beginning the tour. Once the tour began is where the adventure and fun began. Traveling through the trails up the mountain was utterly amazing. The scenic views were surreal and picturesque - the white powdery snow can solely be described as something out of a Hollywood movie. Charlie made sure to allow those of wanting a bit of an adrenaline rush ample opportunities to go fast but, never rushed those of us that didn’t. The snowmobiles were awesome. The built-in handle bar warmers for both driver and passenger were a great asset. I would definitely recommend anyone doing the evening tour to utilize the snowsuit made available because after the sun sets, the temperature dropped into the single digits and it was incredibly cold. All in all we had a blast and can’t wait to do it again! Thanks Charlie! 👍🏻

My boyfriend and I did the 3 hour mountain top action tour and absolutely loved it! Our tour guide was Sam and he did an excellent job. Sam did a great job making sure we all understood how to use our snowmobiles and felt comfortable making turns before we headed out on the trails. Sam was very informative and provided great info along the tour. I really loved seeing some of the historical mining towns and equipment. We made several stops along the way and Sam took lots of photos for us. Also, Sam made sure to stop every once in a while to give everyone a chance to catch up and make sure everyone was having a great time.

We also used the free shuttle service to get out to their location which was a great option. The shuttle arrived right on time and the driver was very friendly. Unfortunately we had to find our own way home because the shuttles were running with the 2 hour tours and we were taking a 3 hour tour. High Country Tours was able to recommend a taxi service that would travel out to their facility to get us. The taxi was pretty expensive, but since the free buses and ubers don't go out to their facility it was our only option. If you don't have a vehicle just make sure to call ahead to check on the free shuttle service and be prepared to possibly spend a little more on getting home after your ride. With that being said, even with the extra taxi fee we thought it was completely worth it and would go again in a heartbeat! Definitely check it out!!

My wife and I went for our first ATV experience at Williams Peak. When you arrive, you will push through the gate and wait for the action packed vehicles to arrive at your reservation time. It was pretty straightforward with highlights of all the safety measures so you don't destroy yourself or the vehicle. In 45 minutes we were able to get to a relative viewing spot that is breathtaking and apparently close to where the bears roam. While we didn't see any black bears, we could feel their ominous presence. We happened to go on a bizarre winter day that came the first week of September. At ground level it was around 50 and sunny and by the time we got 2/3s up, it was cold and full of snow on the trees. It did snow a little bit and I forgot my gloves, so prepare for chilled fingers and red cheeks. Overall great experience that I highly recommend!

Had the most amazing time. I took my husband for his birthday on 2/12/21. We did the scenic tour there were 7 ski doos on our tour and left in a timely manner and returned right on time. Kevin was our tour guide and he was amazing!! He did a wonderful job explaining how to operate the Ski doo (we had never driven one before) we stopped in some of the best places to take photos and take in the sounds of nature. Kevin also made sure that we didn’t get separated and kept an eye on everyone the whole time. My husband and I fit comfortably on one ski doo and had a blast. They have basically all brand new beautiful ski doos and they have handle bar warmers for both the driver and passenger! So so nice on a cold day in the mountains! I would 10/10 recommend doing you snowmobiling adventures with High Country Tours.

What an incredible 2 hours! We had a group of 6 that all went on individual snowmobiles and I highly recommend doing that. The guys were able to do their thing and us girls were able to go at the speed we wanted to. Our tour guide was Kevin and he was seriously amazing! Once he got a feel for our group he tailored the experience to what he thought we would like and he did not disappoint. If we are ever back in this area, we will definitely go back. 12/10 would recommend this experience!

We had a family of 6 visiting for winter break. This was by far the favorite activity of the week. The scenery was beautiful and I would highly recommend that everyone choose High Country for your snowmobiling fun. Our tour guide Justin, aka Eyeball, was great. He was very informative and made sure that we had the best experience. He made sure everyone was comfortable and safe but also made sure that we were able to see all of the sights- we even spotted elk on our tour! A wonderful time for the young and the old! Thanks for a good time!

Excellent ATV tour in the wilderness by Kremmling CO.
Guides really took the time to explain and coach navigating the trails. Guided tour went further faster and on rougher roads than I would have tried alone without confidence in the vehicles.
Recommend a side by side with roll bar for safety and comfort.
Recommend trying for the spot behind the guide so you get to see how they handle the obstacles and learn quickly.

We had a group of 4 adults visiting the area and decided that snowmobiling was a "must do" while in Colorado. We decided to go with High Country Tours due to the included features like the snow suits, snow shoes, and helmets. We also loved that when we arrived they offered snow bibs, snow pants, and then the full suit. We ended up using their snow bibs, snow boots, but wore our own jackets. We also purchased the $10 ski goggles and they were very nice. This was a nice option from the company.

As we arrived, we got dressed and waited on our guide to call our name. Our guide was Steve, which let me start by saying, he was amazing. We loved that we were the only 4 in his group (4 drivers), but most groups are less than 7 people per guide. We really enjoyed getting to know him a bit before we headed to do our once overs on the snowmobiles. We learned the basics of the machines as well how to stop, start, and lean on the snowmobile to keep us safe. Steve then took us to a large field where we practiced our leaning techniques (this was by far the scariest part of the snowmobiling).

Steve then started us on the trails and took his time to make sure the women (bc we were nervous) felt comfortable. We took it easy for a little bit and made our way to the summit, where they had the hot chocolate waiting. Steve was gracious enough to take a few photos of the 4 of us and we continued on our way. Then we really started exploring the vast land that Upcountry offered. We enjoyed our time throughly and was the highlight of the trip.

One last thing, the guides do go out of their way to make it a great experience, so tipping them is a must. We felt like Steve was amazing and a great part of High Country tours. So, ask for him.... you will not regret it. Also, we did the Action Tour from the Henning Outpost. We made about 4-5 stops but most of the time was exploring on the snowmobile, which was the best time!

Me and 2 friends went on the Mountain Top Action Tour and had the Best Time! The equipment (Snowmobile Suit, Boots and Helmet) was good quality and easy to find the right size. The base instructions were all you needed to get started and you learned more on the trail. Our guide Sam was top notch, very knowledgeable and kept us in sync. The Snowcat Renegade had great power and the hand warmers were a savior on this snowy 10 degree day. As we proved we were getting the hang of it we went on some fantastic trails and had one of the best times of my life with my best friends. Would highly recommend.
