Interesting tour

We really enjoyed our tour, the guide was excited about the information she provided and she was very knowledgeable. The castle is filled with beautiful antiques and paintings. It even kept our teenagers interested. The view is absolutely gorgeous!

Hidden Gem
Aug 2018 • Couples
Growing up in the area, I had always heard there was a castle near Sedalia and would try to glimpse it through the trees while traveling on hwy 85. My mom and daughter took me on a castle tour for my birthday this year. What a treat. The grounds are beautiful and the castle interior is full of beautiful artwork, furniture and architecture. If you're lucky you might get John or Meg, former Butler or Caterer respectively as your tour guide. The castle also offers teas, brunches and is a venue for weddings and other events. The 90 minute tour is well worth the price of admission though I wish I had a little more time in each room and could see more of the grounds.

A Real Gem
Jun 2018 • Couples
Cherokee Castle is a real gem.. Our tour guide, Meg, had worked for the former owner, Tweet Kimball, and related many tales from the castle's past. Located about 40 minutes south of Denver, it is well worth the drive. The castle has a vast collection of art and furniture dating back hundreds of years.

Interesting public tour

Our family went and really enjoyed our visit - grandparents, daughter, and ten year old.
The youngest asked many questions. We loved seeing all the old furniture, and finding more about the history. The cattle are still raised today - they were introduced by the last owner who lived there many years. She was divorced and had two young sons; the sons are now in their 60's.

Historical and Amazing!

The art work that is displayed was donated to the castle by the last owner includes a real battle canon and a knight's uniform. Paintings of British Royalty and a piece of pottery dating back to BC period.

Cherokee Castle Magic

I was fortunate to visit the Castle at various times when it was owned by Tweet Kimball. I frequent it now for various special events as well as to attend the various offerings by the Castle itself. It's truly a gem!

Local radio station has a great interview with Cherokee Castle management
Mar 2016 • Family
Sunday 3/27/16 10:30am show Bernie’s Colorado Journeys travels to Cherokee Ranch, twenty miles south of Denver in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains in the small town of Sedalia.
The story centers around the then named Charlford (Charles – Gifford) Castle that was built between 1924-1926. The 24 room kingdom was designed by prominent Denver architect Burnham F. Hoyt for Denverite Charles Alfred Johnson.

Bernie’s Colorado Journeys is on Colorado Springs radio KCMJ FM 93.9

Note: Bernie reserves the rating of 5 bullets for breakfast in bed and a foot massage (which he never gets).

The castle is beautiful but the event we added was way overpriced

We attended an elk bugling event at the Castle one evening with another couple. The presenter was not very interesting and then we didn't even see or hear any elk. We really didn't learn anything... Would not recommend that particular event!
