Loved this park. There is a paved walk prob around 3/4 mile great for walking or biking. It’s so pretty, we came back the next day with books and just hung out and read. There is a small outdoor venue for concerts and the like..... but with COVID, this appeared to be closed. Get out and enjoy. Would be very romantic at night too. ❤️

This park is a beautiful spot in the evening to let the children play while adults relax. The grass is green and beautiful, there are clean restrooms and the river is right at the edge of the park. It is very high at the moment, so there wasn’t any swimming, however the main attraction was watching the surfers try their hand at the standing wave that has been created - many spectators watching them. We stopped here every evening after walking around Salida as a break for the kids!

We enjoyed our stay in Salida, but found this RV park to be in serious need of maintenance and improvement. Lots of tree trimming needed. It was difficult to get our rig into our spot without being scraped by overgrown tree limbs. The overgrown limbs also got in our way walking around. We could not use our awning due to the overgrown limbs. The bathrooms and shower house are too far away.
It was a very long walk and felt unsafe to my wife walking by herself. Also the speed bumps were, without exaggeration, the absolute worst we've ever endured. Too big, and not necessary. Many parks have speed bumps, but not like these Overall, the park needs updating. It looks like it has seen better days in the past, and needs some basic TLC and sprucing up. There is lots of potential there that is not being realized. We enjoyed the nice river flowing through the property, but for the price, we expected better. This park need some TLC, updating, and some basic care.

Took a walk here after dinner and it was the perfect capper to a great evening in downtown Salida. It's a great spot anytime though and shouldn't be missed! Check out the folks surfing "the wave" while you're there...really fun.

We enjoyed several afternoon and evening walks in downtown Salida, Colorado. There was much going on at the river, where people were sunning/swimming/rafting/ or just floating down the river. One guy found a great-handing chair to sit and read over the water!

Super fun place to go kayaking or floating. Nicely designed kayak park. It is also a nice place to walk, play in the park or relax. Walking by the river is nice. Shops and restaurants nearby.

The town often has activities scheduled here and along the river that runs by it. The walk along the river is very nice.

Great whitewater festival in the park. Food, clothing, etc..vendors, live music. Park is super clean, huge cottonwood trees provide plenty of shade.

This was a great place for a picnic. The area is shaded and restrooms are nearby. We enjoyed the several kayakers negotiating the swift flowing river.

As stated in my review, there is a playground area to the left of the stage, during fibark they fence off the playground so adults without children don't go stumbling in. The playground features swings a slide, a rock wall and other obstacles to keep kids entertained for a while

Hi Troy, where did you go for your nephew to float through the drop? I've been looking and not sure where to go/what we need to do for our kids - I think they would enjoy; thanks!

The river runs along the park. There are 4 or 5 places where the river drops and creates some whitewater. You can wade and swim in the calm water. The children will want to have life jackets if they want to float through the drops and whitewater.
