It was worth the drive. Nice views at sunset and of the night lights of the city. Parking and the drive is a little tight. Great photo op.

Windy dirt road to drive up to get incredible views of Salida, Sangre de Cristo mountains, Collegiate Peaks and the lush green valley. Also trails to hike up instead of drive.

Fantastic view of area/parked about half way up and then walked to the summit - very manageable for somewhat fit people as well as hikers/dirt road/paths and incline

A fun, easy, walk or bike ride to the top of world-famous "Christmas Mountain." There are many trails leading to the overlook at the top where you can get a great view of Salida and the neighboring Sangre de Cristo mountains. You can drive up...More

What a great view of the Salida area from the top of Spiral Drive. I went up in a car although quite a few folks bicycle the drive, too

My wife and I visited salida over New Year's Eve. Spiral drive with 4-6" of snow was beautiful. It was decorated like a Christmas tree. Very cool from downtown .

Mountain biking to enjoy the peaceful view. Enjoyed the early morning outing. Serene location with a steep incline to keep your heart rate pumping.

a dirt road that goes around to the top of a mountain over looking the town of Salida. We met a 70 year old biker that was having no problem going to the top. very impressive

Climb right up to the top of a peak to look out over the city. This is a must do for us old time Colorado natives when we come to Salida.

You can drive to the top. To get to the tower, you have to walk a few steps, but the photo was taken from the car.

It took me about 40 minutes starting at the Caboose parking lot to get to the top of the steps with the little building. I walk slow and stopped to take a break at the bench. I bet you could do it faster though!
