Folks love to spiral up "S Mountain" (aka Tenderfoot Mtn.) to get a great view with minimal effort. Easy access from just north of town, the road is good for any vehicle.

We attempted to drive the spiral drive. However, the road was blocked by a gate. There were no signs informing drivers of the closure until you reached the gate. So, my advice is "don't attempt the trip".

You can drive to the top. To get to the tower, you have to walk a few steps, but the photo was taken from the car.

It took me about 40 minutes starting at the Caboose parking lot to get to the top of the steps with the little building. I walk slow and stopped to take a break at the bench. I bet you could do it faster though!
