The big house, owned by Jane Austins brother was often visited by Jane. It was Great to walk in Jane's footsteps. The house was interesting, guide was informative. Fabulous collection of Jane Austins works in multiple languages. Recommend the cake in the cafe

A nice place to visit if you’re into Jane Austen or even walking around big historical houses. You can walk around the rooms, the library and take a walk around the grounds. The tea room is a lovely place for a quick bite or drink....More

Nearest station is Alton but the walk from there is long.so if you have a car much better. There was a smaller entry fee than Jane Austen's Museum but I got in free with Art Pass
