Pueblo Raptor Center

Educational and fun. Be up close and personal with raptors, learn about their habits and know what to do if you encounter one.

We had heard some really good things about the Nature and Raptor Center and wanted to visit to see what it was all about. We were lucky enough to arrive on a day they were releasing a bird back into the wild admit had been completely rehabilitated...that was exciting! The staff is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the birds... More

We went to this area for a walk along the river. The lady at the nature center was not familiar with the walking trail and that was disappointing. When asked which direction to go, she could not say. We went to the right by the park thinking the trail would follow the river and it did not. Park of the... More

Walking a few miles along the Arkansas River showed a wide variety of bird life along the banks. We especially enjoyed watching an osprey fishing for its breakfast. Overall it was a nice place to stroll and connect with nature. There are various educational programs available if you have the time. After our stroll we went up the hill and... More

We heard about the Nature and Raptor Center when one of the employees brought some birds to a talk we were at, at Mueller State Park. We decided to go visit the center when some friends came into town, and we were a little disappointed. This is a wonderful group of people who really do a great job at rehabbing... More

The NRCP is a great place to enjoy the edge of the city and the beauty of the Arkansas River. This nature is not about the exhibit it is about getting out and walking/running along the river, returning in time for one of the programs NRCP has to offer. The Coyote Grill is good enough to stop and enjoy a... More

The walking area is nice when accessible, the many identified flowers bushes is most interesting to view what really will grow in the Pueblo area. parking needs work.

The Raptor Center does a good job in providing information on the magnificent birds they have taken in that can't be released back into the wild. Seeing those birds up close was amazing. (Note: you reach the Raptor Center and its parking area before you get to the parking lot for the "Nature" conservation area, but you need to go... More

You can either just go for a walk along the river or just take a camera and look for birds. I'd recommend sitting down and watch the "fly" fisherman catch their dinner. Speaking of dinner don't miss the Coyote Grill.
