The riverwalk is a nice place to walk and goes around an eating district, then loops back to a business/warehouse district. There is a boat ride on the river, but we usually walk along the water's boardwalk. A veteran's museum is near the area with...More
Very pretty downtown area. Cold this time of year but have been here when it was warm and easy to walk around. The town has done a nice job with this area. Spent a lot of money making it pleasing to the eye!!

This beautiful place. GO for a stroll, walk your dog, meet family and friends, ser art work and see the memorial to our veterans. Make plans to ride the boat around the river and good pizza to eat.

It's more like a tad over 1 mile, and you can easily shorten it in several places by going up a sloping walkway onto an overpass or bridge. The 5-mile loop you're looking may be the Arkansas River Trail which is a different trail along a 50+ mile length of the Arkansas River. The downtown Riverwalk is a diversion of the Ark R along parts of its original course and is a beautiful stroll anyday of the week, anytime of the year.
