Great Facility Tour - and some good wine too
We enjoy wine. But, not wine connoisseurs. Our big wine discriminators are white-red and sweet-sour. We do like the wine making process and learning about the grapes and wineries. We chose Grande River as it has tours of their facilities. We got there late in the day thinking that they wouldn't have any tours. We were wrong. Upon asking about a tour, one of the servers said sure, let's go. He was great. Randy, agreed to take us on a tour of the back room where they turn grapes into wine. He spent a long time with us showing us the machinery for separating the grapes from stems, crushing the grapes (and separating the juice from skins for white wines), wine fermentation and finally wine aging. Along the way he told us about the barrels, cleaning the fermentation tanks, topping off the barrels. And the final room he took us to was the bottling area. What a nice tour. Oh, and the wine. We were allowed three free tastings each (six since we shared). We could tell red from white and found several we liked. And actually bought two bottles. A nice experience. The tasting room is average, but comfortable. it's the people that made it special.

    Always delicious!
We are actually wine club members and really like the wines here. The place has been for sale forever so if you have a couple million, step right up. The wines are excellent and vary from casual to slightly expensive but they’re all really good. Whether you red or white, you’ll find something great in a lovely setting. Can’t wait for the return of the summer concerts!

    Relaxing experience, very good wines!
Lovely ambiance. We were invited to select 4 different wines to taste. There is an upstairs seating area which allowed us to relax and enjoy the wines. A useful wine glass holder staged our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th samples so we could sip at our own pace. There was a speaker nearby that we turned on and enjoyed music, and I leafed through a picturesque "coffee table" book of Tuscany, Italy.

We visited this place twice. Good location and nice service. The wines were delicious. And they open at 9am which is nice for travelers coming and going. There were a couple of outdoor picnic tables with lots of lavender nearby and close to some great peach markets. Check it out.

The tasting room itself is inviting, and the bottles are all decked out with ribbons the vineyard has won. We weren't crazy about the wines, but that is subjective. We noticed that there is an inn next door so we asked about it. The server said she didn't know anything about it, like how many rooms, etc. Hmmm. She didn't seem to have much knowledge about the wines, either. Oh well.

I've noticed Grande River Vineyards for years, driving past on I-70 and I finally made a stop. Their tasting room is nicely decorated, and cozy. Their wine is great and the staff is very informative.

This was a first and favorite winery in Palisade. It is literally right off I-70 and we walked from our hotel next door. Very pleasant staff who was excited about the wines and telling us about the local area and other things to check out. They had 19 different wines, and allow 5 complimentary tastes per person. Our favorite was the Viognier, and we stopped back a few days later to buy a couple bottles to take home.

For being the largest Winery disappointed in the tasting room being so small. The wines we tried were nothing special.

Pours were a bit small, I realize they are just a taste but barely enough to give me the taste I need to know if I want to purchase. They are very good wines though. Super delightful staff but the best part was the gift and sundries!

I was not impresed with this winery and would not recommend stopping there. When I arrived the cashier was busy with a customer and another employee had to come downstairs to help me. She made me feel like I was interupting her work to taste their wines. The wines I tried were not very good. You only get three tastes for free, which is not much when they have approximately 10 different varieties. It is hard to find a bottle to buy when you only get to try three wines and they are all very different varieties and blends. Perhaps if I had tried more, I would have found one I liked. I went to another winery after that and they stated that you got five tastes for free and they actually ended up giving me eight tastes for free so I could try more of their wines. I ended up buying several bottles there because I found multiple ones I liked.

We enjoyed being hosted at this winery. We stood at the bar and sampled six wines. The lady who served us was a wonderful conversationalist and knew a lot about wines and wine-making.

We stopped by a snowy December morning, had our three complimentary tastes, got a bottle to take home, and felt very safe! Delicious wines for Colorado.

this is one of the first wineries in the valley and it had incredible tastings and wonderful store. Now it is up for sale, the wine is so so and definitely is showing it's age.
