An Education in Alpacas

Very interesting, owners are very friendly in sharing knowledge about the Alpacas and the milling process. Definitely worth a visit.

This was a great little find for our eight year old. It was super informative and super cool to get to lead the Alpacas around the orchard. The owner was very informative and we actually learned a lot about how they make the yarn from these animals. All that for $10 bucks a person! What a deal.

On our road trip through Colorado, we stopped to visit Suncrest Orchard Alpacas. We were 2 adults and 2 boys, ages 11 and 7. Mike introduced us to the alpacas and we had a lovely walk through his beautiful peach orchard. The alpacas were gentle and sweet, and we were all in love with them. Mike was very generous with... When visiting Palisades you think and read about wineries. It's time to do something else or in addition to the winery thing. The answer is GO ALPACA. Mike the owner took us on trek through the orchard. Two young males who once we got by the female pens were obedient and docile. He than took us through his Alpaca fur... More

Seeing these little guys is pretty great. You can feed them as they come up to you. Don't plan on spending a ton of time though!

On a recent trip to Palisades, we stopped to visit Suncrest Orchard Alpacas. Mike met us as we drove up and offered a tour. He was so interesting as he explained how to raise, feed, protect, shear and mate the alpacas. We also had a tour of his fiber processing area and learned so much about preparing the fiber for... We decided to spend an hour of our Saturday taking the Suncrest Orchard Alpacas Trekking Tour, and it was more than worth the $10/person price. We each walked an alpaca around a peach orchard (walking alpacas is surprisingly relaxing) and toured a mill that converts alpaca fleece/fiber into yarn. Mike, the owner and tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.... More

We dropped in without calling first and had a nice lady (not the owner) show us the alpacas and gave us a tour of the fiber processing facility. It was very interesting to me as someone who uses yarn, but my family enjoyed it too! The animals were fun to see. We were not offered an orchard tour, but I... More

Took the Alpacas for a walk through the peach orchard, with our kids. Lots of fun with these gentle interesting creatures. The owner was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended.

We took the Alpaca "trek" a few weeks ago and had a great time. The owners selected an Alpaca for each person and we walked them through the peach orchards for an hour while we learned a great deal about this wonderful animal. Afterward, we were escorted to the facility that is used to make yarn of the fur of... More
