We took the Alpaca "trek" a few weeks ago and had a great time. The owners selected an Alpaca for each person and we walked them through the peach orchards for an hour while we learned a great deal about this wonderful animal. Afterward, we were escorted to the facility that is used to make yarn of the fur of... More

Mike and Cindi are super hospitable. The alpacas are adorable. The facility where they process the yarn is amazing. Kids (and adults) can buy some treats and feed the animals. Purchase alpaca products in their tiny gift shop. Don't depend on your phone's map navigation to get you there. Get to the intersection of 'F' and '36' road, then just... More

I had done this tour two times before and just loved it. Our HOA organized one for a Saturday morning and as always, it was fascinating. It was a crisp, colorful fall day with views of the Bookcliffs and orchards as we watched multicolored Alpacas chewing contentedly on cut grass. Mike describes their ancient history, breeding, the value of their... More

We turned up at Suncrest Alpacas to find no-one around, just a field of cute alpacas and two very friendly guard dogs. But owner Mike soon came out to greet us and we ended up spending a very interesting and enjoyable hour with him as he explained how the alpaca wool is farmed, washed, prepared and woven. Mike was friendly,... More

Call ahead for a tour. My wife and I just got dumb lucky, because were on a lazy drive through Palisade with no where particular in mind and we saw on the TripAdvisor app that Suncrest Orchard was nearby. Another group had scheduled a tour with the owner Mike, and we pulled up just as they were getting started, and... More

Other reviewers have done a far better job than I ever could describing Suncrest orchard alpacas. Let me just add that everyone who visits will leave knowing that that they have experienced something truly special.

When we arrived, we weren't sure if we were supposed to let someone know we were there, but the owner soon came out as we were by the Alpaca pens. He shared information about the animals in general and specific, then took us to the room where they work the fibers. Every machine was explained, but not in a succinct... More

My family and I stoped here on our way home from a Rifle Colorado. Mike is the owner of the farm and he took the time to share his knowledge and experience of his alpaca farm. He was very good and attentive to our children and answered all the questions. Alpacas are very gentle and quiet creatures. They're very shy... More

A scinic drive through orchards and vinyards will lead you to this hidden Palisade gem. This family owned and operated farm is the perfect educational experience for all ages! We lost track of time because we were so caught up in the experience while visiting with the owners. They treated us like house guest. The best time to go is... More

The owner was full of interesting facts and we were able to feed the alpacas n see where and how they get the wool from them...family owned...also has a small gift shop on the premises...best to call ahead n...
