Our first time visiting this winery and it won't be our last. We enjoyed a flight while sitting outside by the vines watching the cats roam around and play with each other. Personally I think their whites are better than their reds; the dry Gewürztraminer was delicious as was the Forever our Rivers white blend. Staff was very friendly and the vibe reminded me of the vineyards I used to visit back home in Northern Michigan. On a side note, my wife bought a bottle of green hot sauce (don't know maker), but she loves it! Great place to visit and look forward to visiting again the next time we are in the area!

Every time we visit the Grand Valley wine area, we make it a point to visit one of our favorite wineries, Carlson Vineyards Winery. They are like visiting an old friend. We enjoy tasting their wines. The tasting is always topped off by a tasting of their cherry wine and a bit of dark chocolate. Now I must admit I don’t care much for sweet wines ,but somehow I have developed a taste for this cherry dark chocolate combination. If you want I visit a friendly winery with many interesting Colorado wines, I’d suggest you give Carlson a visit.

Great atmosphere! Beautiful shaded area for guests. Wine flights (5) in lieu of tastings due to COVID-19. Great prices, water provided. Owner stopped by more than once to check on us and tell us about their business.

Two of us love wine and the third person was equally welcome under a tree in the backyard in comfortable chairs. It was hottt the day we visited, but the shade and breeze helped. We bought three tasty bottles of wine after tasting five delicious wines. Wish we had brought snacks and might have enjoyed a glass of wine after the tasting. Lovely staff and very well informed and welcoming.

Carlson Vineyards was our first stop while visiting Palisade wine country for our 30th anniversary. We packed a picnic lunch and their backyard shaded seating area was perfect. The beakers used for wine tasting was a creative and whimsical touch! The staff were knowledgable and friendly. There was a winery cat versus the vineyard dogs which was also a whimsical thing. We enjoyed sampling the whites and reds, but I ended up having a lovely glass of the chardonnay to have with our picnic lunch. We left with 3 bottles to bring home. Don't let the exterior of the front building deter you. The inside in welcoming and backyard with vineyard views just lovely.
