About
Maison La Belle Vie (French for "House of Beautiful Life") was planted 8 years ago. The first vintages from the estate winery, were introduced in 2006 and included Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Rosé and Muscat; a dessert wine that is traditional in the Loire Valley in France. Maison la Belle Vie has now added 3 Reserve wines, a Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot all aged for 4 years as well as the famous Vin de Peche; a Muscat, fortified with peaches - a recipe from John's family that has been handed down through the generations since the late 1800's. A new addition is a hand crafted walnut liquor that is simply delicious. Our Tasting Room is open 7 days a week and features weekly events on our beautiful patio. Sunday Brunch on the Vineyard is every week 10am-3pm and Burger Night is every Friday 5-8pm. Check out our Facebook Events Calendar for up to date happenings at Maison La Belle Vie.

Monica made us feel very welcome. Beautiful winery with some great food. Lovely outdoor setting. The reds were excellent.

Okay menu

We stopped in after a beautiful bike ride through the wine country. We Pre-ordered our dinner. We had only 2 choices, hamburger or mushroom burger. The mushroom burger was tasteless and the hamburger was just ok. You would think with only cooking 2 items they could get it right.

Late afternoon tasting
Mar 2021 • Family
We stopped about 15 minutes before close and they could not have been nicer to our group. The wine was excellent. However, their tastings are preselected, therefore you may need to get two flights to taser the ones you desire.

So bummed it wasn't the service we've had for years
Sep 2020
After years of going here, it kills me to write a review that is less than five stars, but our experience this time was drastically different than before. Hopefully it's a fluke. My husband and I took our friends here for dinner and were so excited to take them because it's our favorite winery. We went for dinner and even though we had a reservation, had to wait quite a while. It's COVID though, so nothing is really the same anymore, and that's for the most part, ok. We ordered a bottle right away and it came relatively quickly. Maybe we are too "old" (we're not. We are in our 30s) to find loud music enjoyable, but we could barely hear each other because there was really loud Euro techno music in the background. Like I mentioned, we've been here countless times and that was the first time it's happened but it was incredibly annoying. There were many people around us having nice dinners and I find it hard to believe a large group of people having intimate and family dinners want to listen to loud music while chilling out and having dinner. It's normally a really nice, low key background that enhances the ambiance. After about 30 minutes we finally mentioned it and our server was cool enough to ask it to be turned down. Which lasted about five minutes because "the kitchen staff couldn't hear it." huh??? Our server then disappeared for approx 20 minutes while we were so thirsty!!! Dying to get another bottle of wine so our friends could try our favorite that we'd been raving about. She finally came back to take our order and I ordered their burger, which is always so good! She mentioned that it was prime, high quality but recommended having it cooked medium. If the meat is high quality, I prefer it more medium rare and said I appreciate the suggestion, but would much rather take the risk and not have it medium. That's way too cooked for my taste for such yummy meat. We waited about 20 minutes longer for our bottle. :( I know we are on vacation and need to relax, which we were, but it was almost impossible to get anything ordered. Not only that, but because of COVID, reservations were limited in time so I was worried we'd be rushed later for getting close to the end time mark. I didn't want someone else's RSVP being pushed back also because of it. My burger was way over cooked. Not even medium, but considerably well done. A total bummer. It took so long to get the food the first time, I just ended up eating about half of it. Fast forward to getting around to dessert, my friend and I ordered the same thing and they forgot her order. We mentioned it and when hers came out, it was lacking about 80% of the extras mine had. The cream, the flowers, the lovely design. I actually felt guilty for having a nicer piece than her. We saw the owner come out later and say hi and go to literally every table but ours. Was it coincidence? Who knows. But after asking about the music and the burger, we may have been paranoid, but seeing how he usually acts with his customers, we felt intentionally singled out and then thought that may have been why our food service was sub par. Did they know it was our table? I've been a server, I'd bet on it that he knew. The bottom line is, we built them up so highly to our friends for months, and felt bad that it wasn't nearly the service and food we told them it would be. They won't be losing my business any time soon! But hopefully if my friends get to come to Palisade again, it will be better for them the second time around. Please leave the euro techno out of the dinner experience and don't be offended that I don't want my burger cooked less. Your food is great! I want to be able to enjoy it!

Beat wine and charcuterie
Oct 2020
Great red wines. On the weekends they have brunch with homemade French pastries and frittatas. Setting is fantastic as well. Highly recommend the charcuterie plates. One of the few wineries in Palisade that offer food so great place to stop for weekend brunch or lunch.

Good food, decent wine, bad service

Maison La Belle had a lot of potential. It was a cute winery that came highly recommended. We waited a full hour with a hostess that we couldn’t hear at the bench directly next to the hostess stand. After watching multiple people miss their name we were called. Upon being sat out order were taken, but after a half hour we hadn’t received our food. After signaling our waitress we finally got our charcuterie. The food was delicious, but the service was a mess. If there is ANY wait I would not reccomend this place.

Hummmmm? Customer Service? Do I want you to come back? No
Jul 2020 • Friends
It was a Wednesday afternoon and we, a group of 5 easy going ladies (hospitality retirees) decided to go do some wine tastings and have lunch...

In the crazy world we live in currently, of course we expected some bumps along the way, however.... this establishment obviously did not need/want our business, as from the moment we arrived we felt more like an “inconvenience” than welcomed guests...
*pick a table and stay there - we get the whole sanitation thing, perhaps work on the delivery?.

We ordered a sampling flight prior to ordering a bottle to have with lunch - the flight arrived and there were 4 glasses... yet there 5 of us. I truly believe a well trained or interested server may have said - 4 samples, 5 gals.... maybe bring some additional glasses? No.... they can just all slobber on the same small taster glasses... one friend finally went to find some additional glasses and was sent back with 5 mini plastic cups.

Next came the lunch order - which I guess politely asking if a dish could be split was out of the question. After being corrected by our server what we could not do - fine!!!! We will just deal with it all at our table, and split the items up ourselves. The wine bottle came, and it was plopped on our table along with the wine glasses.... guess the day of a server offering to pour the individual glasses is a COVID no no??? So turns out we must have been too much for this gal as a few minutes later, John came to our table - a manager? Owner?

You know - whatever - lunch was ok..... the attitudes less than desirable. You’re operating at what percent? Palisades is a seasonal destination? If I was a business owner, I think I’d be bending over backwards to make every guest know how grateful I am they chose MY establishment!

The happy ending of this story was we crossed the road over to the Garfield Estates Winery, and were treated like we mattered! Even with 3 other tables there, we were attended to promptly, we joked around with our server who was super fun, and he even explained the wines we were sampling.... concept! not just placing a piece of paper down on the table with the tasters and walking away like the “other” place did....

Maison la Belle Vie is one of the best wineries in Palisade! The wine is delicious, the food is always so tasty, and the service is amazing! They also have one of the best outdoor spaces to enjoy it all! Highly recommend a visit here!

Most overpriced winery in Palisade
Jul 2020
My wife and I had visited here a few years prior and liked it so we were looking forward to a repeat experience only to find a quaint wedding venue disguised as a winery. My $12 flight contained four reds that were pretty indistinguishable from each other. To rub salt in the wound, I was blind sided with $2 per water serving.

Great Experience
Jul 2020
Wonderful little spot for a nice cheese plate and wine flight! It felt like I was visiting another country. Cute little outdoor area with plenty of shade. Riding my bike down the lane with rows of vines on either side was the experience that I was looking for. Things were a little different due to COVID but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. If I make it back to Palisade, this will be on the top of my list!
