Description:

As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies...

As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies makes an array of honey based wines. We start with pure, raw Orange Blossom honey, then ferment it. We also craft fruit 'n honey wines. They're blends of mead and fruit wines such as blackberry, strawberry & peach. We also carry fortified dessert wines. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man and has a rich and interesting history. Stop in to our tasting room in the heart of Palisade, CO to learn more and have complimentary tastes of our mead.

I was recommended this place and decided to give it a shot, and boy were we impressed with their honey wines. If you love sweet wine you must visit this place and the other wineries in the area. Some had rich sweet hints of honey, others had more hints of fruit or were flowery, a few had chocolate notes. You... More

People in the tasting room were very friendly. Several choices to sample from the menu. Has a cozy feel to it with a nice gift shop area.

Wine made from fermented honey and water goes back into ancient history - thousands of years ago. I don't care for alcoholic drinks (though I often use wine in cooking), but I had to try it as did my wife, who is a bit of a wine connoisseur. After taste testing a few, my wife really liked the Peach Honey... More

If you are up for sampling the middle ages and getting a taste of Mead this is the place. My favorite was the wine they would have drank During King Arthur's time.

I'm not a wine nor mead expert. I know very little about wine and less about mead. Whether or not another will like the mead, I don't know but I loved it all! All of that aside, I really liked the young woman who assisted us with our tasting, the young woman who stopped what she was doing to give... More

First of all, MEAD, need I say more. Seriously this place was so CUTE!!! There was a tour offered of the back where they make the mead, and although we did not have time for that I am sure it would be worth your while! By the way, maybe I should have started by saying FREE TASTINGS!! 5 free samples... More

When we arrived in Palisade we knew we wanted to do a couple of vineyard tours/ tastings. All of the locals recommended the Meadery of the Rockies. We had never had mead, so the host walked us through how it is made and the different flavors each one has. You get three free samples, and they have regular running tours... More

Stopped by after a visit across the street for something a little different. Tried 3 different wines made with honey. Maybe too sweet for my taste however my Wife enjoyed her choices and we made a few purchases. If you like sweet wines this is a must stop. If not enjoy several of the other wineries in the area.
