Nice location to play but frustrating layout
Jun 2021
The course is in a very nice location. A lot of trees and shrubs to work around but the lay out was frustrating. Maybe this is why we saw no one else playing the course in the 3 hours we were here .
The course does not seem to be laid out very well, for a number of reasons. The map at the start of the course shows were to are to start but it is very misleading. The actual tee box is on the top of the hill and not where the map shows at the bottom in a poorly made tee spot. We missed the first hole entirely for this reason until we got to the 18th hole.
There are 2 #10 tee's to add to the confusion. The first one you come across seems to be wrongly marked with the main signage that are at all the tees. You can see the hole off in the distance but then you can see the 11 tee only a short distance from the #10 tee which means you have to walk 300' to the hole and then come back the same 300+' to start be at the 11 tee. A bit later we came across another 10 tee which was I.D. by a home made sign. The position of this #10 tee with the home made sign however actually made more since in its location as the 10 hole was much closer to the #11 tee .
Some of the tees where so far from the prior hole you weren't sure if you were going in the right direction at times. The signage wasn't always correct. One sign showed the hole going to the left when it was actually to the right.
One hole is over 800+' but yet it is only a par 4! Why not break it down into 2 holes or make it a par 5? 800+' as a par 4, really?
Having said all of this, playing a round in wooded forest on a nice day isn't a bad way to spent 3 hours.

Excellent disc golf park. Trees, Hills, clean, cared for. Free! Views! Good equipment! Great day!!

This park like area is big. Plenty of space for several teams. No big mountain drop-offs. Well marked and spaced. Bathrooms even! Score cards available at two locations. Fun for teens and families. In big evergreen trees. Many trees have been cleared out for the success of the disc course. Pagosa Springs has done a great job of maintenence and providing this activity as a service to its visitors. Yes! I would go again -- often! This big hill must be gorgeous with a little snow covering. Deer and squirrels. Easy to spend a couple of delightful hours there! Ample vehicle patking just down the hill a bit. Once you walk up the hill from the parking lot, the course is not that steep.

Fun Disc Golf course with long, challenging holes
Jul 2015 • Family
My family and I like to play disc golf wherever we travel. We played this course in July 2015 and really enjoyed it. A few holes are wide open, a few are in the trees. There are long weeds on lots of holes, so It's a challenge to keep an eye on your disc to make sure you can find it after each toss. Generally longish holes, with one that stretch more than 800 feet. Out group was made up of 5 players of all levels of ability. It took just over 2 hours to play 15 of the 18 holes. We had to skip a couple to get to another planned activity. It was a great afternoon, and I'd love to play Cloman Park again in the future.
