Rushing water

Very nice 1/2 mile hike up to the full flowing waterfall. The drive takes over an hour, however, on a gravel/dirt road. Feels like you will never get there. Your truck will need a wash afterwards but the trip thru the lush valleys were nice.

Long 1 hour drive with no signs or GPS for directions. But, it was worth it to get there! Had a picnic beside river. Then hiked short half mile (little rugged in spots) up to falls. It was spectacular to be so close to it. Can play in pools below falls too.

Glad we did this easy walk/hike to beautiful frozen waterfall. Neat family mini-adventure. Trail is clean and easy to follow. Enjoyed it.

Great little hike on an October day!!
Oct 2020
Great little hike last week. Just a half mile from the parking lot. Very few people at this time of year. The color on the trees was amazing. Good little spot not too far from Pagosa Springs center of town. Relatively easy hike!!

So worth the 35 minute drive from Durango

Great hike and very dog friendly. We were at the falls by ourselves, our dog swam like crazy. Only saw two families while there

Short easy 1/2 mile hike through large trees to larger than expected waterfalls. Cool and refreshing on a hot day.

Beautiful Waterfall and great hike!
Jul 2020 • Family
The hike was family friendly and the waterfall was beautiful. We did miss our turn along the gravel road which took us 7mi wrong way so had to back track but that was our fault. Write the directions down before you leave and you will be fine—you lose GPS. We saw a huge herd of elk which was incredible. It was a great excursion and well worth the drive.

Worth the long drive
Jun 2020 • Family
The drive is long (about an hour) down fire service roads but definitely worth it. At the end of the EASY hike lies the waterfall splashing down into a beautiful cool pool. Great place for the kids to splash around in the fresh mountain water. Excellent place to pack a small lunch and sit on a rock to enjoy lunch.

You have got to go here...
May 2020
We asked several people about this and no one really knew much and we saw that the drive was about 1 hr even though it was only 30 miles from where we were. We almost did not go and we are glad that we did. The drive to it is long as it is on dirt roads but the views are remarkable before you even get to the falls. Once you get to the falls the trail is pretty easy and the only issue for some would be the large rocks from the wash out. Once you get to the falls you don't want to leave. In reading other reviews it talks about mosquitoes and when we went we did not have any. The people traveling the trails were great as well. A great trail for the entire family
