Easy, safe, +wildlife, friendly guide
Sep 2020
With little experience between us, my husband and I had absolutely no concerns with the instruction and guidance from Berta. We did the 1.5 hour ride -- felt like the perfect length -- in late afternoon and saw quite a few clusters of deer. If you come through here in foliage season, have your camera ready before you get to the aspen copse. WOW do I wish I had taken photos.
Great people, we will look them up in Tucson where the family apparently goes for the winter to run service through Saguaro National Park.

Just Okay
Aug 2020 • Family
We went today with our three little kids ages 5, 6 & 7. The staff was very accommodating to move our reservations up to a later time of day when we were running slow.

Some of the staff was great, some not so great.

First, I am from Texas y’all and I grew up in a very small ranching community-horses were the preferred method of transportation in town-including going to school. I am extremely experienced with horses and livestock and rode daily growing up and still ride regularly today.

What was great-they have different lengths of rides so if you want a short ride for your littles to have an experience but you don’t want to ride all day this is a good option. It is a trail ride so you are right behind each other. There were no spectacular views but it was leisurely and peaceful.

The ride was easy and fun for the two older kids. They really loved it and it was a special experience for them.

What was bad: I had to ride double with my five year old and it was HORRIBLE. I did not realize they had to be six or older to ride alone. The girls who went to adjust my saddle noticed the stirrups were too long and when they went to adjust them them they couldn’t shorten them anymore and they just left me in the saddle too long for me. This wouldn’t have been a huge deal to me if it had just been me but because I was riding with my five year old it made a very uncomfortable ride already-just miserable. My feet keep falling out and the guide kept telling me to kick my horse not realizing how difficult it was for me to do so. My youngest son was hating the ride so much I asked if the two of us could just go back. I was told we could but everyone else would have to turn back too so we suffered through it.

The moral is don’t take kids under six and if you are uncomfortable speak up before you get too far down the trail.

A Horse's Tail
Aug 2020
We did the 2 hour trail ride and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guides were fantastic and the horses certainly showed some personality! The ride itself was pretty uneventful because trail horses basically follow directly behind the tail of the horse in front of them. Even so, some "acted up" a little bit by trying to go on other trails, rub on bushes...just showing they are truly animals with a mind. Check in was easy. Was pretty warm in the afternoon but scenery was pretty.

Relaxing 1.5 Hour Guided Ride
Aug 2020 • Family
Took our family of five (12, 10, and 8 years old) on the 1.5 hour ride this morning. We all loved it. Horses are all happy and healthy. The guides do a wonderful job making sure things are going well. 1.5 hours was the perfect length for all of us beginner riders. The path was scenic and we saw quite a few deer along the trail.

Great trip

Multi- Family of 12 from 2 years of age and up took the hour long trail ride! Great experience and loads of fun. Horses were so gentle and made the riding experience greater. It has been years since I have rode a horse and they made me feel secure. Safety was a top priority and they made sure the kids knew what to do and that they had fun. Highly recommend and would like to go on a longer trail ride next time

Great place!

We had a fantastic experience here.
None of us had ever been riding before. The horses were very gentle and well trained. My daughter who is 7 had no problem at all. The hour ride was a perfect time frame for a beginner.
The guides were fun, kind, enthusiastic, and very experienced.
Overall, I would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

Awesome ride, great first time riding experience

Only went for an hour, next time will go longer for sure. More scenic if you ride out longer. Our guide, Roberta, was great. Horses were gentle and well mannered. Hope to catch up with them in Tucson where they go for the winter!

Large group had a very enjoyable ride!
Sep 2019
I took a group of 12 for a one-hour trail ride. We had a variety of horse-experience, from very novice, to regular rider. Dave was simply superb! Not only did he know all of our names before we left for the ride, but he paired-up the proper horse with the level of rider. Very enjoyable ride and the horses were all well behaved. The only thing missing was a few more Aspens turning their fall foliage.

Dave should be "employee of the year!"

Thank you Dave, Shannon, Sophie, Steve, Nuja, Tim and of course, Jake!.
