At this point in the summer we are offering our Whitewater Tubing trips, Mountain Bike tours and full day rafting and kayaking trips on the Rio Chama. All the details can be found on our website (that TripAdvisor wont let me post here) I don't think any of our tours would be appropriate for toddlers. I have a 5 year old and a 1.5 year old and we love to spend time at the river. The 5yo and I usually take the tubing trip and meet Mom and the toddler at the end of the trip. There are quite a few spots gravel beaches right in Town Park that are great for the youngster to wade, splash and float. There are also a couple of free hot springs pools right on the edge of the river. The cost for tubing is $17 for 2 hours and $29 for the whole day. We offer a shuttle service (no additional charge) that transports you and your tube up river for what ends up being a :45-1:00 float. Please give us a call if you have any other questions. 970-264-4202

Lunch & Tubing (4 Replies)
My family (2 adults & 3 kids 15, 13, 9) will be stopping in Pagosa Springs on our way to Durango from the Great Sand Dunes. We will need to grab lunch and was thinking about tubing the San Juan River if the river is still high enough (mid July) before continuing to Durango. My questions are . . Is Pagosa Outside the only outfitters that offers tubing? Is there a place to grab lunch in that area with outdoor seating overlooking the river? Or possibly a picnic lunch? Where is the spot...More

The huge Pagosa Hot Spring Hotel and 20 pool complex is in the center of town next to the river. The pools are all different shapes and temperatures with some having tiny waterfalls. These are all surrounded by mountain views. While you are in the pools soaking, you can see people walking below the pedestrian bridge into the river where the natural hot springs seep out. The kids were tubing near by.
Hi - we are a family of 4 (kids are 10 & 11) and are looking to stay overnight in Pagosa Springs next May (28th). Any recommendations of where to stay - not super high end (we have kids), but certainly clean and comfortable. If we wanted to visit any hot springs while we are there, where should we go? Also, I saw rafting options on the Mesa Canyon via Pagosa Outside - any feedback on this? I was looking at the family trip lasting 1/2 day... Another option was to hike to Treasure...More

Look at staying at The Springs Resort. It's a modern resort with about two dozen hot springs pools on site right along the San Juan River. It's walking distance to the main part of town. We were through Treasure Falls a year ago and spent about an hour there even though it was raining hard. Very nice hike up to several viewpoints of the falls. You likely can hit it on your way in or out, depending on your route. Others can help you on the rafting. Have fun.
