We just returned from a vacation which included 2 days in Ouray, Co. While planning our trip, the Alchemist Museum was listed as a top place to visit. We were fortunate enough to meet Curtis and received a fascinating history lesson. The time passed too quickly. Curt is a rare individual of uncommon passion. He is driven to share his... More

Thank you for your amazing review! It is beyond all my dreams to have someone respond in such an incredible fashion. It was truly a wonderful experience to have you at the Alchemist and one that I will always remember. I do hope that we do meet again before I am 103 1/2 - fair enough! Best wishes in the... More

This museum is amazing. It is not the typical western slope variety. Kurt gives a wonderful, passionate tour of the history of alchemy and how it evolved in the west. If you want something refreshing and entertaining at the same time book a tour!

Miss Kristy, Thank you for you taking the time to write a review. You and your family are always welcome at the Alchemist. It is a blessing and an honor to have some of your mother's items displayed at the museum. She was a pioneer in pharmacy and medicine and most importantly, the environment. The arsenic is safe! Best wishes... More

My wife and I were the only 10am "tour" guests. Curt presents his own version of world history from a pharmacist/alchemist point of view. It is a credit to him that he can keep it entertaining (for us it was over two hours! We were interrupted by some retail business he had to take care of in the front.) Part... More

Thank you for writing your review. The tour always changes and it is important that it lasts only for the time that you have. It is called freedom of speech, and I do have a lot to say. Hopefully those taking the tour will chime in with their own opinions and make it a colorful experience for all of us.... More

I love passioinate people, as they not only know their field of expertise, but they love to teach and share. Kurt is entertaining through his passion, not because he puts on a dog and pony show. If you are a learner, you will thoroughy enjoy this one.

We enjoyed seeing the museum and hearing Curt's presentation. I found it especially interesting since I am also a pharmacist. Curt's collection and wealth of knowledge is impressive, which makes for a lengthy presentation (almost two hours for ours) but the time goes by quickly. My 12-year-old's attention wavered toward the end, but probably just because we had been driving... More

Thank you for your review. I know that sometimes it is a bit much for children, but it is hard to shorten such a phenomenal amount of history. Should you come by again, I cannot promise that it will be shorter. I try to work with the time that tour takers have for the experience. More

My wife and I took the tour with another couple and were memorized with Kurt's plethora of information and anecdotes on the history of medicine and apothecary science. Curt was so personal too. A very cordial and nice person. Also an amazing amount of artifacts to take in.

My daughter in law and I signed up for the museum tour and it was something I thought would be mildly interesting but I was totally blown away by all the information and exhibitions! Kurt, the owner said that he was doing this to just try and make a difference in the world for only one person! I think he... More

Lots to see and the proprietor is a wealth of information. History you can see up close, some familiar, some not so..

Curt, on July 13, we were fortunate to take the tour with one other couple. Maybe you remember... we were outside the front door lamenting that we had just missed your tour. We arrived after the museum was closed, but spent time talking with the owner and he was very interesting and told us about some of the items in the museum. A great place to visit and a real pharmacy, too.
