This trial starts out from the Visitor's Center and ascends rapidly to a point under the valley cliffs, well above the roof tops. It is steep and might bother those who worry about heights.

This is a very nice hike with meeting points at various roads into Ouray, so you can leave or join the trail as you see fit. We did nearly the whole trail, just cutting off the last part back to the visitor center. If memory serves, it took about 4 hours, with many stops just to hang out and enjoy... More

I started at the Box Canyon park and meandered my way around the town. Definitely a great way to work off a big lunch or breakfast.

Don't be "that hiker" - wear sturdy shoes, keep control of your dog, bring water and snacks, be polite to others... This challenging hike (7.03 miles) took us just about 4 hours (which includes stops for pictures) and was a challenging hike not for the faint of heart. Great area to hike in, fabulous views. On the sections I hiked I saw very few people. Trail is steep in places which can be challenging at this elevation

This trail has a little bit of everything. Good workout, lot's of up and down, water falls, views, tunnels, edges, history, river and streams. Oh and did I say views, they were great!

We didn't do the whole trail around town but the portion that we did do was great. Very well maintained and the tunnel on the part we did our nephew thought was super cool

The perimeter trail lets u see Ouray from the upper elevations...I did it in 4 stages to keep it from wearing me out haha! Felt very safe and took many pics. Even had cell service most of the way. Start at visitor center and get a map. Going clockwise allows u to safely climb up and avoid a lot of... More

Don't miss out. We took numerous children, and they all loved it! Water and gorgeous views can't be beat.
