The trail to Yankee Girl Mine was fun with a Jeep and there are quite a few buildings still standing. Great remains of Colorado history.

Need a 4 wheeled drive vehicle to get there..do not try to go there in a regular vehicle. We went on a 4 hour photo tour with Alpine Scenic Jeep Tours.

Wow this was just amazing. We hiked up and went through. Beautiful and so much history. Seeing it from the road was just not as amazing as standing right in front of it. A must see!!

Between the jeep trail, beautiful wildflowers, mountains and trees, this has to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth!

Yankee Girl Mine was the star of its time, and the fact that it was worked into the 1940's is probably why you can still see it today. Be sure to check out a bit of its history before you come out to make the...More

Been by this mine a couple of times. On of the better preserve mines in The Red Mountain District. There are still a lot of tailing piles that you can sift though and find some nice pieces of pyrite or quartz crystals. Fun place to...More

We took the short 4x4 drive to the mine, and it was a beautiful spot. This historic mining area has lots of places to explore, drive around on the 4x4 road, and take some awesome pictures!!! You can see the mine from Hwy 550 at...More
