Reservations for the 2024 season are available on our website. Situated amidst the beautiful, mountainous country of Western Colorado, family-owned-and-operated Action Adventures Trail Rides has provided high-quality horseback experiences to generations of visitors. Rides are available to guests of all levels. Repeat clients often return to be reacquainted with the same horse they rode last time they visited. Rides Available in Ouray and Telluride 1 hour - $80 - 2 hour - $160.

Our group of 4, including one 9 year old granddaughter, took the one hour ride which was perfect for a wam afternoon. Three young ladies got the entire group of 12 or so people mounted on our horses and armed with the do’s and don’ts the took us on a ride through some beautiful landscape and shared lots of info about the area and about their horses. Great for families. You don’t need to be an expert horseman! Great for first it’s e riders. Can’t say enough good things about Evelyn and Kristin.

We, all of our group, truly enjoyed our hour and a half ride with Action Adventures. They, Justin, Avery, and Maddy were all welcoming and very competent. We appreciate their efforts to accommodate our bunch, all in the senior age bracket with very varied riding experience. We rode on the opening day of their season, yet horses were very compliant, well suited to us and the trail. We will be back!

Justin and Jase are amazing guides! I learned so much about the history of the area.
The views were spectacular! Range riding is so much more authentic than nose to tail trail riding. I very much enjoyed the opportunity to lope! It was thrilling! An experience I will never forget!

Our family had the most incredible horseback riding experience ever! My 10-year-old daughter, who has been riding for multiple years, was absolutely thrilled. The trail was stunning and our two guides were exceptional. One of them, just 16 years old, was incredibly professional and knowledgeable.
We’ve been coming to Colorado every summer for the last 12 years to horseback ride, and this was by far the best experience we've ever had. The horses were well cared for, the scenery was breathtaking, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. We’re even considering booking another ride before we leave!
We can't say enough good things about this experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable horseback riding adventure!

We visited the Ouray location with our friends and booked the 1.5 hour ride. Evelyn, Avery and the crew did such a great job making us feel comfortable around the horses and explaining how the ride would go. The views were gorgeous and it was such a relaxing way to start our morning. Highly recommend!

My granddaughter and I took the 2-hour ride with our guide, Brian, and we had a wonderful experience. The horses were responsive, the scenery fabulous, and our guide, Brian, actively engaged my granddaughter in conversation about various topics, including, but not limited to horses. She could not have been happier with her experience and, accordingly, neither could I.

We had a beautiful ride and Jace and ( I can’t recall her name sadly) were very friendly, helpful and fun! The horses were a bit spirited as they wanted to trot some which was awesome!! I would highly recommend this for horse lovers or wanting beautiful scenery!

Our family had a wonderful time on our horseback adventure. For two adults who hadn't ridden in a long time and our seven-year-old daughter riding for the first time, the experience was just right. Nicole was a terrific leader, and was delightful with our excited, chatty daughter. The horses were very gentle and the views were amazing. Nothing but good times.

Our horseback ride at Baker Ranch was great. I have experienced ride many times with this outfit. They are experienced, friendly and very personable. All their horses are well cared for. They have three different location you can ride. Baker Ranch is wide open Pasteur and field on Horsefly Mesa. Stunning views. Our guides, Brian and Jaxs were very cool. Friendly and informative. I highly recommend going out with this outfit. It is a family run organization.👍🏼

Family of three with limited horse experience had a fantastic time . Beautiful scenery and the horses were well behaved. Our guides gave us perfectly clear instruction on how to handle our horses. This trip we rode at the Baker Ranch in Placerville; can’t wait to come back and ride at the Ourey location.
