Put on a hard hat and take a leisurely tour 1,500 feet into the old Bachelor-Syracuse Silver Mine to experience Ouray's rich mining history. Your guide will reveal the mine's secrets and explain how mining was accomplished in the early 1900s. Gold panning available, too. Open daily May-September. Recommended for families & groups. We come each year. We love it on the mountain. The views are breathtaking. For now breakfast is on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning starting at 8:00. Stan, the owner, still makes the best breakfast. I had the big breakfast that includes two strips of bacon, sausage, eggs over easy, home fries and biscuits and gravy. Yum yum!!!

Again, my husband loves mines so we went to this one the next day after going to the Old Hundred. We were the only ones on this walking tour with the guide. Our guy was also super knowledgeable and great speaker. It is a walking tour and can be muddy- water is running through the mines- so a heads up... More

We had a wonderful tour through the mine with a guide named Ralph. He was very interesting and very knowledgable. The gift shop has lots of treasures and the clerks that work in their are very friendly especially one named Barb. She was very informative on the rocks and minerals and the Tommy Knockers.

This was my first mine tour ever and while I was rather hoping for a chance of getting a ride in a moving cart, I figured that wouldn't be the case. You do walk in, it is wet so wear shoes with grip type soles. I wore sneakers which were perfect. Your miner guide, dressed in garb, shared great info... More

Thanks for the review, the old tram has its advantages and disadvantages. We transitioned to a walking tour so that our guest could get more history and info. Running the tram in limited the amount of info and history we could explain. Also a lot less noise and bumps. Spring cleaning is almost finished and the blacksmith shop will be... More

This was a good tour and our tour guide was well informed. He walked us and another couple into the mine giving us history as we went. He would stop for us to make pictures and he was happy to take his time for answering questions. He seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. The drive up to... More
