Eldora is just 21 miles from Boulder and 45 miles from Denver. Avoid the stress of I-70's notorious congestion. Eldora is a locals-friendly mountain, relaxed and unpretentious. One of Colorado's best kept secrets for families. There's something for...more
Operationally, this place is a mess. The mountain itself -- once you get up there -- isn't bad for the price and it's proximity to Denver. If you have a season pass and your own equipment, I can see why this works. I know they...More
Shame on you Eldora Nordic Center for gouging XC skiers. Are you kidding me? $37 to ski for the 90 minutes I had available? You are gougers! Consider this:
1. No half-day ticket
2. “Peak” pricing is everyday into March. A January Tuesday costs as...More
I skied Eldora 5 seasons ago and vowed to never ski there again after the bar attendant wouldn't let me eat the soggy piece of frozen pizza from my pocket for lunch. He said "no outside food"
That said Eldora went on the IKON pass...More
I was on vacation to Eldora and wanted to take my kids (4 and 7) out to ski for their third time. They were skiing very well and skied down on some blue runs without fail, but then got abruptly halted by one of their...More
First time skiing for me and my kids. Nice maintained resort. Well run even at it’s busiest. We were there Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas. All very friendly and helpful staff.
Food is overpriced but substantial and good.
I've been skiing Eldora long enough, and often enough, to consider myself a local and while I have great respect for the area - some of the best snow makers and groomers in the business, the new parking policy is stupid. While I understand they...More
Great friendly service. Horribly overpriced. When Vail is $20 and aspen is free to xc and the snow ranch at winter park is $20 it’s hard understand why they think we will all come back having to pay $32!! And if that’s not bad enough...More
Just moved to Boulder and this has become the mountain I go to the most, as it is a short 40 minute drive up Boulder Canyon with minimal traffic. The location is currently the only reason I go as often as I do though.
Hey! I will arrive in Denver on the morning of 24 Dec and will fly out on the morning of 28 Dec. I am interested in snowboarding for a day or two, and have heard that Echo mountain or Eldora mountain resort is not too bad and close to the city. I basically want to have a feel of Denver, do the touristy things and check out the nightlife. Any ideas of an itinerary for Denver for my trip there? Cheers!

Eldora mountain resort open on Xmas day? (3 Replies)
Hi there, My partner and I will be staying in Denver for Christmas and want to spend Christmas Day in the snow- as we are Australian and have never experienced a white xmas. Does anyone know whether Eldora mountain resort will be open on christmas day and whether they will charge any extra due to it being a public holiday? I couldn't find any information on their website and they are currently closed for the season so I'm worried they won't reply to my email for quite some time. Thanks,...More
