Excellent views and several trails with varying distances. The castle trail is a must try, history buffs (and everyone else) will appreciate the ruins! Mt Falcon is one of my top spots to catch a sunset within 30 min from Denver.

Challenging uphill hike among red rocks with gorgeous views of Red Rocks Ampitheatre and Denver. Great place to get some good exercise before going to the show. :)

This is a fun trail to take with kids - if you access the park from the Evergreen side. It is fun to walk/hike to the ruins of an old castle, and an easy hike for all ages/levels.

Hiked this trail from Morrison up. The castle is a wonderful history lesson in its self. Lots of people hiking. Flowers in bloom.

One of our favorite places to hike in the area. If you choose to do the 8 mile loop, plenty of great views and an interesting stop at the old Walker Mansion. Easy trails, restrooms at start but try and get there early, especially on...More

Ran this trail training for a mountain race. Steep in spots but the views are worth it. Keep your eyes and ears open for mountain bikers and wildlife.

Love to do this hike year round to get in shape for backpacking and more length hikes. We usually use east side of the trail. It's great because there is a trail no mountain bikes are allowed on. We usually go early in the morning...More

We have done this trail from both the East and the West trailhead, it is a great trail! I actually prefer going from the East side as then you are hiking uphill first and then back down. The trail is well kept, here is some...More

This is a lovely 8 mile hike. I have lived in Golden most of my life, hike a lot, and had never been here until I tripped over it in my AllTrails app (check it out that app!). The remains of a castle provide a...More

We always use the Indian Hills entrance as we come in from Evergreen. Parking has never been an issue but we usually get there in AM before it gets too hot in Summer.

Yes you can walk around the castle. There is wooden fencing around main areas but you can still enjoy the view and get the “jest” of the area. You can still get some great photos. Bring water. Beautiful flowers and area... More
