I had skied here almost a decade ago when I wasn’t very good. Hubs had never skied there, so we decided to go as an overnight trip since I had a free stay at the downtown Grand Junction Springhill Marriott. We decided to visit on a weekend in January. What I can say about Powderhorn this time is: WOW! Snow... More

By far the best place to learn to ski as an adult and/or teach young kids. From early beginner to expert skiing, Powderhorn is best! All ski runs end at the same location. All levels of skiing will end at the same place, which makes Powderhorn exceptional for groups with varying levels. Ski school instructors are great for adults (me)... More

Great place to go skiing with out the expense of the other ski resorts such as Aspen or Vail Plus it's close to Grand Junction if you're not in the mood to drive to Vail The of a ticket to skiing for the day is really good and when you need a hotel chocolate they have it I don't know... More

We visited my son in Grand Junction and decided to take him skiing at Powderhorn. FANTASTIC decision. Even though we were dealing with spring snow, the people were so friendly and helpful, the prices (lift tickets AND food) were very reasonable, and the runs are amazing. Views are spectacular every where you look... The lift operators were really playful and... More

In the middle of nowhere, 45 minutes from Grand Junction on top of the Grand Mesa, you'll find a surprisingly great ski mountain with lots of great skiing, unexpected views of the Colorado Plateau, and almost no people to bother you. Two ski lifts service the majority of the mountain. On the two days we were there (Friday and Saturday)... More

I can't speak for the learning programs, but as for the terrain itself, its as good as it get for letting a child progress. Super wide groomers with moderate grade and a smaller park with simple boxes and rails. That's not to say there isn't pleanty for the advanced riders though. Some really nice glades and a well built large... More

We has an excellent ski vacation in February. Everyone at the Resort were awesome. Will be back! But don't stay at the Slope Side Lodge. Horrible.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Sidewalks and walkways kept clear of snow and ice. Could use a cosmetic upgrade from the 1980's decor.
