My husband, daughter, and I did the Crystal Mill tour with Sam last weekend. It was a blast! Sam is super fun and knowledgeable. The tour is a great way to see the Mill and Crystal City if you don't want to hike in or if you don't have a vehicle suitable for the trail. We will definitely be back to do one of the other tours. The whole area is truly breathtaking!

We had a great experience with the jeep tour out of Marble. Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable and fun . We had beautiful weather and got to see the iconic Crystal Mill. For others considering driving this route I do think it is possible with the right equipment, but with saying that I would plan for problems. Bring water, wear appropriate shoes, have spare tires etc. On our way down we ran into about 4 different group of people with issues like flat tires, cars overheating with a/c on, etc. It was nice to sit back and not worry about tearing up our car. We also learned a lot history of the area. Highly recommend

Went in early September with Chad and Sam and had an absolute blast. Chad was super knowledgeable about the area and surrounding wildlife. Marble is a really beautiful area and I'd definitely recommend booking with them, if you're in town. Word to the wise: get gas before coming (nearest gas station is ~60 miles away). & most importantly: don't forget to pinch it!!

If you are not afraid of heights, nor a bumpy ride over rocks and scree, then you must schedule your excursion with ‘Sam’, proprietor extraordinaire, of the oldest outdoor activities establishment in Marble, CO. Sam’s experience facilitating this amazing outing provides her customers with the best opportunity to enjoy breathtaking scenery and an unforgettable view of the most photographed Mill in the world, the Crystal Mill. You’ll have the best views of the Crystal River and surrounding mountains, the iconic Mill that provided electricity to the white marble miners in the early 1900s, and many other photo opportunities during this three hour trip. Do yourself a favor, and take a weekend to escape the melee and experience the history of Marble, CO, and Crystal, CO, and Mother Nature’s grandeur. Did I forget to mention that the marble was used to build the sarcophagus ‘Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’ at Arlington National Cemetery, circa 1921? Oh well, Sam can fill you in...

We have to make a correction... the Crystal Mill did not produce electricity, rather it had an air compressor which was piped to the silver mines in the area. We appreciate your review. --Smitty
