I have been to Colorado many times but never experienced the mountains like this. The ride is long, and the seats are uncomfortable, but the view and general experience are well worth it. It's like nothing else you'll see. We showed up without tickets and got the last 3 standby tickets. We were stoked, even though the train was crowded... More

We were the last ones on on a last minute whim at the end of the day. Well worth the wait but a real chance we weren't getting in. Book ahead of time. Enjoyable relaxing way to the 14K peak. Don't stress and drive, this is much more enjoyable.

Loved it! Beautiful. Cog rail was so fun! My kids had a blast. Conductor was comical and knowledgeable. Donuts were good at the top of the mountain. Awesome views.

The Pikes Peak Cog Railway is a very enjoyable ride up to the summit of Pikes Peak. The station, as well as the train, is clean and comfortable despite the large number of daily visitors. The conductor was very friendly and being a local, gave a good commentary of the sights along the way. Although there are no bathrooms on... More

The Good: Train is fairly comfortable. The conductor was entertaining and informative. The gorgeous views are awesome. The time at the top can be spent in the gift shop or just enjoying the views. You can buy donuts at the top, but this time we did not get any because they ran out. The Bad: Parking is terrible!!! The Ugly:... More

Definitely get reservations - we did not realize how important that was and ended up on standby. Plus, there was one woman in the ticket office that comes off very unfriendly and it rubbed both us and at least one other gentleman the wrong way. We ended up in the jump seats facing backwards. Not sure if those seats or... More

The best part of this trip was very cool. The sights and picture opportunities at the top are awesome. The food there isn't terrible, and the gift shop is pretty good as well. The problems come with the actual cog rail experience. The trip is an hour and a half up and a hour and a half back. The chairs... More

Although the workers and the ride itself were enjoyable, the time at the top was not as advertised. On their website it indicates "30 - 40 minutes on the top of Pikes Peak'', however we got maybe 20 minutes. The staff said that the shortened tine was due to new engineers, and running more trains. We felt very cheated of... More
