I've been going here for years. Although I have never lived in Colorado, Roxborough ihas been a destination spot for me for 20+ years, because of its unique and remarkable beauty. Should be on everyone's bucket list. A wonderful place to experience trails, golf, restaurants, the amazing Red Rocks Ampitheater, and a jumping off point for many mountain treks, ski... More

The hiking and snow shoeing are both great. The trails are in excellent condition and well maintained.

The red rocks are awesome. The visitor center is fun. Trails are good. Just watch out for the poison ivy that lines some parts of some trails. When hiking with young ones, go for the wide trail to the north, which is poison ivy free.

If you like looking at beautiful rock formations you will enjoy this park. The walk is easy and the scrub oak are beautiful colors in contrast to the rocks; particularly in fall. Take water as amenities are scarce. It is a great place to go in the morning or afternoon between things, not a place to make the day of... More

This is a beautiful rock park good for a couple of hours. But the best view is from the golf course practice putting green just to the north of the park. Shhhhh... don't tell anyone. The best photos are a half hour before dusk - or just after sunrise. The colors are gorgeous.

This is a very pretty park with lots of different picturesque views. Yes there is wildlife we saw moths fluttering in the wetlands, a deer hanging out, and dragonflies and such. The visitor center is nice. We got caught in the rain and took shelter on the visitor center. The ranger turned on the movie for us which was cool.... More

Love the park itself but am highly irritated for the 3rd time with the way programs/walks/hikes are handled at this park. After checking the day before to find out about registering for a nature walk the next morning and being told no registration is needed (I was really checking to see if the program was still happening) I left my... This is a beautiful and historic state park with a variety of hiking trails and a lot of wildlife. I saw two large male deer on my way into the park. The entrance road isn't very good but the scenery is fantastic It is good to hike in a park without dogs and bicycles - it's just for people

Roxborough State Park is a gem close in to Denver and is deserving of a visit. The red (due to iron deposition)sandstone outcroppings are from the Fountain Formation. This same formation extends from Garden of The Gods in Colorado Springs to Red Rocks, west of Denver, to The Flatirons in Boulder. Roxborough State Park has hiking trails from easy to... More

In a 2 mile hike, I have never seen so many diverse ecosystems...breathtaking cliffs and hogbacks, views of the eastern plains, rolling hills, and a marsh area! Saw deer, birds of prey, toads, and several species of small mammals.
