A nice relaxing train ride in the mountains with spectacular views. The staff were very friendly and knew loads of facts about the mountains, Leadville and the flora and fauna of the area.

Beautiful views of the valley and mountain ranges. We sat in the open air car. Weather was perfect for it. They are pet friendly also. Our dog loved the ride. Only downfall might be the volume of the guide in the enclosed in cars. It was very loud. Open air car was fine.

This train will take you on a journey of breath-taking views along the tracks of mining history. Leadville was once the second largest city in Colorado and the home of Molly Brown. You'll get an opportunity to traverse the tracks of many mines and see beautiful scenes along the way. The train goes up into the mountains and then returns... More

We debated about a longer train ride and the 2 hour trip was perfect. Narrator and crew were very knowledgable about the area. You are free to roam around and take in the views from either side of the train.

The train trip around the Arkansas Valley, through the old mining sites, among the wild flowers and trees with deer, bear and various critters while the Conductor tells the history of the area and the folks who made Colorado first a silver then a gold not a rare minerals source for the rest of other is definitely worth the time... Scenic views? Of the same mountains we saw getting to Leadville. Most of the ride was through pine and aspen forests, so we heard a lot about trees. We also heard a lot about the history of Leadville and the surrounding area mines, but nothing actually historic on the route. The conductor was very informative, but her delivery had us hoping she... I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience this was! Everything about this trip is first class. The conductor narrates going up the over 1000 foot climb all about the town, the trains, the scenery, the history, from mining to the tree species and animals that inhabit the area. There is a boxcar with restrooms and concessions to keep... More

It's a scenic journey not a thrill ride. Seats face outward, best seats are on the downhill side. Narrator speaks quite clearly and the PA is good quality. The trip back lacks the narration of the trip up as they have said everything. You may get to see zip liners as you pass by. You can walk through the engine... More
