The Dog sledding in Leadville was an excellent experience! Customer service was excellent from the owner to employees! Brett was our guide & he was friendly, knowledgeable & went out if his way to accommodate my husband who was in a boot & on crutches! We bought out a “ public tour” for the 4 of us! Worked out great!! 2 of us took turns being pulled by a snowmobile in a sled & 2 on the dog sled. The 2 on snowmobile sled faced the dogs and got great pics and video! The 2 on sled took turns one riding in sled, one standing to drive! Amazing experiences all!! My husband was only able to ride in sled but that was HUGE for him to even be able to participate!! These dogs are former racers and need room to run!! Its an open meadow that they run in but surrounded by beautiful high peaks! The buildings you check in and the barns etc are historic buildings! Absolutely nothing fancy here but, your greeted by roaring fire, free hot coca and friendly staff & great experience & thats all you need!! You will be introduced to each dog & learn their history before you are given very good instructions on how to drive the sled!! My oldest of 2 daughters( 23,18) loved this better than any other excursion we’ve done around the world!! She said “it was even better than our amazing dolphin encounter at Atlantis resort”!! High praise indeed!!

We did the dog sledding on our day off skiing, we were staying in Frisco and it is an easy 35 min drive to Leadville. The Dog sledding adventure park has 127 dogs, which are all very friendly and hungry for some belly rubs. With us was a family of 4, two kids at the age of 6 and 10. All of us we were riding the dog sled in shifts. The tour guide was riding during the whole time a snowmobile pulling a sled with the rest of the group. The dogs are trained to follow the snowmobile and were visibly having a lot of fun! It was a unique, amazing experience, the 6 year old was driving the dogsled all by himself while his mom was enjoying the ride in the sled, snuggled up with a blanket. Absolutely worth the trip and money!

The dog sled adventure at El Rancho Excandido was AWESOME!! We met all of the dogs for our sled before we took off. One of our dogs ran in the Iditarod. Each dog was ready to go. Each of us got to drive for a while as well as ride in the basket. It was a once in a lifetime adventure. Our guide was so knowledgeable and fun. I would recommend this tour to everyone!

We took our two daughters on this dogsledding adventure and we haven't been able to wipe the smiles off their faces. The dogs are very friendly and full of energy. There are about 110 dogs onsite so they have lots of opportunity to rest between trips. The initial rush when you pull up the brakes on the sled and the dogs take off must be experienced; it can't be explained. The guides are super attentive, and they don't rush through the adventure. They are looking for good homes to adopt retired sled dogs, so consider taking one of them home.

We went with Good times for our dog sled adventure. Was about an hour and a half in total not the 1 hour advertised. Really good fun and the dogs are so lovely. Everyone gets a chance for driving the sled (mushing) across various parts of the course, uphill or downhill. Top tip, volunteer for the downhill parts. Much more fun and not tiring on the legs. Cost $70 but well worth it. Unless you have plenty of money or no sense (like us) don't buy the photo at the end, it cost $25. Now that is a rip off. More fool us. We had plenty of photos taken on our own camera too!!
