This was a fantastic tour. The man who owns the mine gives you a history of the mining in the area and then takes you down 500 feet into the mine. He explains how they used to mine and shows you the modernized way. You are down there about an hour or so. Extremely interesting.

I read many reviews before deciding on which mine tour to do and I'm SO glad I chose this one. Every other review was spot on when they talked about how unique and authentic this tour is. The owner himself gives the tour and describes in detail the rich history of the mine and mining in Leadville. He had multiple... More

This is the best mine tour I have ever taken. The owner of the mine gives the tour and he is passionate about his mine. He has worked as a miner and he shares his expertise. Once you descend 600 ft into the mine, you begin to understand the life of a miner. Many mining tools are demonstrated and that... More

Now this is the real experience! Get ready to get cold as you go 600" underground and listen to some breathtaking stories. As real as it can get!

We went to this tour on a day off before the Leadville MTB 100. We learned a lot of history in regards to the town, as well as local mining history. Then we went down the mine shaft 60 storeys for an amazing tour. Saw some old mining tools/artifacts as well as a brief demonstration on drilling today. A great... More

Don't waste your money on the other silly little mine tours in the area. If you want to descend 60 stories in a dark mine shaft and see real mining equipment operated by a real miner, this is the tour for you.

This was a great tour and Bob was wonderful. A must do if your in the area as mining made Leadville. You will go down a mine shaft 600" and then walk through tunnels. Dress warm as it can be 40 degrees!

This was an unexpected nugget of history and fun. Bob was a first rate tour guide. He discussed the history of the area and mining techniques associated with that time period. Traveling down 600 feet into the earth in the same manner miners have for centuries is an experience. For the best experience keep your group less than 9, call... More

I went on this tour and it was better than I hoped. It was cool to see how being underground and working in the old days was. Bob gave a very detailed tour and showed how to run some of the equipment he uses down there. I would recommend taking this tour if you want a unique experience when visiting... More

Went with my 72 year old mother and 8 year old son. Honestly went because I thought my son would like it, but I ended up really being captivated by the whole experience. Bob was interesting and full of knowledge. I do not know anywhere else you can get a tour 60 stories underground. I feel grateful to have seen... More
