We sort of stumbled onto this wonderful center; taking advantage of the wonderful walking trails and paths behind the Bel Mar Library, we were on a walk after visiting the library, and wandered over to check out the unusual buildings nestled down in the pleasant little valley, we were surprised to see such a comprehensive museum of early days in... Lakewood has taken the initiative to acquire and restore early buildings from the area. The collections of builidings are both business and homes. this is an interesting colllection.

Roaming through the Lakewood Heritage Center makes for an interesting afternoon stroll but it would be so much more fun if you could actually go into more of the buildings that are there. The facades hold so much promise, but then, the facade is all you get. That said, they have some unique meeting spaces there, from the modernist chrome/silver... More

Loved the original old buildings and walking trails. It's a dog friendly park with a small pond in the middle. Great for history buffs that would like to know more about the area.

The Lakewood Heritage Center is a shiny new building that celebrates the 20th century. The interior while open and spacious only contains two rooms of exhibits, one changing and one that is focused on the development of Lakewood and the park that the Center is located in. Effort is given to make the exhibits kid friendly. There is always something... More

This place rocks!!! They have some of the actual buildings that were part of the beginnings of Lakewood. That is a school building, a home of one of the pioneers of Lakewood, a cattle auction buiding, and a lot more. Learn a little history through a first hand point of view while enjoying the magnificent grounds!!!

I have enjoyed going with friends to the out door music programs the last several years. The are on Wednesday nights on the lawn and are in expensive entertainment. You can bring a picnic to enjoy. They prohibit bringing alcohol but have beer and wine for sale.

This is where my husband proposed (on the bridge) but all of Belmar Park is wonderful to visit. If you go during Cider Days, you won't be sorry but just a walk around the lake is very relaxing and to see the wildlife in the lake is wonderful.

A variety of experiences from Concerts in the Park to Apple Cider Days. Truly enjoy going and watching the tractor pulls and watching the kiddies make apple juice for their cider. The heritage center has some really great displays and change frequently enough to keep you interested.
