I had tried to learn to ski before and had given up. I just couldn't figure out how to be under control. With much pestering from my husband and kids, who all love to ski, and a loan of beginner skis from a similarly sized...More
My kids were very scared to start lessons (8&9) but they ended up asking to go back for 4 days. The in-processing was very smooth (get there by 9am if you want shorter lines). They had plenty of sunscreen, snacks, kid-friendly lunches, and playtime mixed...More
While on a 7 day trip, I took the time to take lessons. The instructors were excellent, and worked very hard to endure each student got what they needed.
I recommend starting any trip to keystone with a lesson as a tune up.
Compared to Beaver Creek and Northstar, the Keystone Ski school was a step down in organization but on par in actual instruction. The instructors were fantastic and our kids continued to learn new skills, however, despite requiring a 9:15 check-in for school, our level 4...More
We had an overall frustrating experience Keystone. BUT Ski & Ride School at Mountain house was the one bright spot! They were accommodating, helpful, kind, consistent and helped my kids be better skier while having fun! I doubt we will be back to Keystone because...More
I am in my 40's and haven't been skiing in almost 20 years. I tried a few days on my own but lacked confidence and I also have a very terrible fear of heights so chair lifts are a nightmare for me. I decided to...More
This year was our second year of ski school, and we used the River Run location for the first time. Again, drop off was easy, the kids had fun and they learned a ton. We paid for ultimate four lessons, but my son had the...More

I had a great time skiing with Colonel Dave. Also, after the first two mini runs a coordinator moves you up or back based on skill level. But I was level 2-4 which is low green to low blue for this mountain. We had a group of 5 and I felt well addressed and thought he also did a good job addressing everyone else.

I've only used the full-day lessons for my kids. Itinerary depends on the weather, and the level of skier. Weather: if it's cold, they will have the kids go inside frequently to warm up. They never turn it into a death-slog. Never heard my kid complain about being cold. Level--low level skiers get evaluated often to make sure they're in the right level. Makes everybody happy. They used to use paper cards and mark off all of the skills, now it shows up on epic mix. The itinerary consists of filling in that card, and making sure the skills are learned.
