Mountain View Sports is Keystone's only family owned and operated ski, board and bike rental shop. We set ourselves apart from the rest by offering the best customer service and best equipment possible. Every one of our employees are long time residents of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and enjoy sharing their extensive knowledge of the area and all the activities that come along with it. We did not have a good experience there. We went there on the recommendation from our rental place. They were not that busy at all when we arrived and other than the nice lady who looked up our reservation, they did not really pay much attention to us or talked to us about the equipment at all.
* They did not confirm that we had rented a particular package. They simply said "go sit over there for your boots"
* A lady came by and literally dropped the boots in front of us and said "these are your boots". She asked "Do you know how to put them on?" and before we could answer she left. We were left alone. We have skied before so we figured it out. She came back and she said "I don't know why they gave you these boots, they are the hardest ones to put on" ... and then she walked off again :-)
* Never made sure that the boots fit well (My wife and daughter ended up having to go back and exchange the boots because the first set did not fit well)
* We were sent to get skis. No questions asked about our level of proficiency or past experience. I initiated the discussion about my ski level and past experience. I indicated that it had been a long time since I had skied and was not familiar with these new skis. My wife had to walk away from the person that was doing her skis because she was not getting help. My wife said "The lady that was helping you at least told you something about the skis". Maybe this was not their responsibility? In any case, they were awfully quiet about the skis. In the end, I am not really sure I got the type of skis I had reserved!
* My wife tried to tell them that this was the first time she had used these type of skis and described what she was looking for. No response. Result: She had to go back and exchange the skis. The second time around she found somebody who would listen to her and gave her a totally different type of skis.
Returning the equipment was easy. One of our party ended up getting injured so we returned the equipment early and they did give us credit for the equipment. On the down side when we returned the equipment, they never asked "how was it?" Any problems with the equipment....they simply took the equipment, checked a form and walked away.
Alas, we will not return to see them and we will not recommend them to our friends.

I first off I want to apologize about the experience you had in my store. I rarely get these types of reviews or need to reply to negative comments. My team is generally spot on and not at all like you described.
However, I have noticed a couple of my team members have been dismissive and not their usual selves. Your review serves as a reminder to my team about the importance of doing their job and doing it well.
I will present this review to all my team to demonstrate the impacts this has. I appreciate you providing me your feedback even though it is embarrassing and hard to deal with from my prospective. The team should have done better and that is the bottom line.

Mountain View Sports saved our Spring Break! We experienced flight delays and missed our appointment with a ski delivery service in Keystone. That company was unable to work with us to reschedule our fitting, which left us without any skis. Every local shop we called was completely booked or sold out, so we were afraid we weren't going to have any equipment for our first day of skiing and kids' first time lessons.
We walked into Mountain View Sports late on the evening of our arrival and told them our situation. They were able to work us into their busy evening. Everyone was incredibly helpful and they got us set up immediately. Great service and great staff. Thank you for being a great local company that cares about your customers!

We rented our skis from Mountain View Sports in early December. The staff was so helpful and kind. They were so very patient with us as we had 3 young kids with us who had never skied before. The owner, I believe his name is Scott (?), was very accommodating as we ended up needing to make some changes during our stay. Great customer service and fantastic prices!! We will be back on our next trip to Keystone!

These guys are absolutely the best bar none. We went to Breckenridge instead of Keystone this year and still made a special trip to Mountain View Sports to rent our gear from them. The staff is not only exceedingly experienced and helpful, but they have a vibe that just makes you feel at home and at ease. They really care about your time on the mountain being as enjoyable as possible and work hard to make sure that happens. I highly recommend them.

On our last day, we stopped by to go biking on the paved trail through the resort. The staff here was very courteous and helpful getting us through the paperwork, setting us with the bikes and helmets and supplying us with a map of the pathway. Bikes were is great condition. Would rent from them again!

We booked the Vail Pass bike ride with Mountain View Sports. They were great, spent time to explain the bikes, make sure the seat was the right height and got us all set up, then shuttled us to the top of the path, gave us maps and directions and gave us a pick up time/place. The bikes were very good condition. Staff was very professional and went out of their way to make sure we were all comfortable with both the bikes and trail. They were on time at the end to shuttle us back. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

We have rented skis and boards from Mountain View sports every time we’ve skied Keystone in the past 10 years. They have reasonable rates and their customer service is excellent. We had a minor issue with our boots and they took care of it in a jiffy. They are the best!!!

We rent our ski gear here every year. Their service is impeccable. Everyone is caring, friendly and genuinely interested in making sure you have the right equipment with the right fit. Josh helps us each year, and he is unbelievably nice and helpful. We look forward to seeing him again next year.

We had a large group, four adults and four children. The employees did a great job
fitting us for boots and skis. I brought back my boots as one didn’t feel good and Cassie was super nice! The prices were almost half the price as ski rental on the mountain.

Looked them up on line and they were absolutely great. Arrived the evening before, they got us our skis, boots, helmets and polls in a jiffy. They were friendly and professional. We ended having to shorten our rental by one day and they were great. There location is close to the mountain and great service. Highly recommend renting from them when in Keystone.

We are trying to find pricing for bike rentals and the shuttle for the vail path-we have a big family and need to know if this is an option

Our shuttle can handle up to 14 people. If you fill the entire van, we can get you 10% of the shuttle portion (bikes are already discounted). If we can be of further assistance, please call us at 800-530-3836. Keep in mind, to place a reservation, we will need each person's height, gender and age to facilitate choosing the right bike for them.
