Lovely stop area
Apr 2021 • Couples
Driving out of town and needed a restroom so we stopped. It was cool to see the ‘Welcome to Colorful Colorado’ sign. Always wanted to stop and take a photo with a version of this sign. And the rest area was so cute. It had teepees and Buffalo cut outs set here and there. We went under a teepee with a picnic bench and chairs to hang out for a bit. A little windy and cool but fun. And the restrooms were clean and large. They have a family restroom which was nice. And tips for being a good steward of the environment and kind to each other during covid presented in an attractive way. Walking trails, RV area and a dog exercise area.It is one of the better rest stops.

Colorado Welcome Center

Very nice welcome center for Colorado. We've stopped here before covid & the visitor center part is very good.
Restrooms are open and clean.
They have a pony express statue outside & a small hike up a hill. Picnic tables if you want to have lunch.

Great place to stop and eat
Jul 2020
We visited here on the way from South Dakota to Nebraska. We wanted to add Colorado to our itinerary after we realized how close this was to the Nebraska. We ate lunch under one of the tee pee picnic areas and walked around to stretch our legs. This is a pony express town as well. We visited on a Sunday, so most other things in this town were closed. The bathrooms were clean. There is a "Welcome to Colorado" sign you could take a picture at.

This is, a wonderful place to stop, if you need to use the facilities or drink something to warm you out, ask for information. Very friendly staff.

Great welcome station!

A great welcome station. Lots of information, and lots of history. The volunteer was very knowledgeable of the area as well as for the things to see off the beaten path during my trip

A wonderful welcome
Aug 2019 • Friends
This is one of the best welcome stations I have been to in any state. The staff was knowledgeable about the state, attentive but not pushy. They even had an area that offered free books for all ages, small children to adults. There was a trail for stretching your legs, an area for pets and everything was clean and well maintained.

Intriguing

Teepee covered picnic tables are available on the vast acreage at this rest stop. Several areas are available for walking. Inside the building is a tower you can walk up to view the area.
The friendly volunteers are engaging and eager to share information and help you. Found interesting that there was an area for adults and children could take a book with them for free.
Many iron buffalo sculptures outside.
A very relaxing stop on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 11:45AM on the road to North Dakota from Texas.

A welcome Center

Cute picnic areas under teepees. Take a picture under the welcome to Colorado sign that’s safe, not on the road. Free used books to take and read , lots of information there, bathrooms ok.

Nice family restroom. Better rest stop than western Nebraska. We always stop here on our trip to Denver.
