We had surfclasses from Boaty. He was a very chill guy and also very patient. He took his time to explain everything multiple times and had a good analysis of what we should improve.

We had such a good time that we kept on booking extra surfclasses with him!

Also the owner, Lesitha, is a very nice and kind person who helped us with multiple things like renting a scooter and took his time to explain all the places to explore around Arugam Bay! He is really great!

Best first surf lesson and great experience🤙🏄‍♀️ Lesithan is a really professional and friendly teacher. I learned a lot and felt really safe in the water. He gave us tips how to prepare and we went very early to the beach, also picked us up and brought us back after. Lots of fun, we will come back, thank you!

I did 3 lessons with excellent surfing, 2 with my partner. The team were amazing my from start to finish. Ravi was so helpful with organising and told us the best times to come whilst it is less busy. Within 1 lessons both myself and my partner were able to stand and progressed very quickly. Shoutout to the instructors who helped us on the day, very patient and great advice.

My boyfriend and I went out with Lesitha one morning on our trip to Arugam Bay, and we left wishing we had one more day to do another lesson with him. I am a brand new beginner, and my boyfriend is more of a novice surfer. Lesitha did a good job of instructing us both even though we are on different levels. He was very patient and encouraging, and he just radiates positivity. It's definitely with booking a lesson with these guys if you are in town.

We had 4 days of lessons with Lesitha and had an absolutely excellent time. We surf a bit at home and so are not total beginners but still learnt a huge amount about how to be better surfers, and read and catch more waves. Lesitha was really friendly and approachable and we're really pleased we chose to go with him.

We loved our two surf lessons we had here. The teachers were really helpful and encouraging. It was cheap at 2500 rupees for over an hour lesson and they didn’t include the teaching on the beach time for beginners in that time either! You rent a board and a long sleeved top in this price. I really recommend. Also the shop you book a place in is a lovely women’s clothes shop, with homemade dresses, tops and shorts made by the surfer teachers sister, who is also lovely! Lovely family!

Never having surfed before, I was a bit nervous, but Lesitha has such a relaxed manner it made learning easy. The first time he took us out to a more remote area with less surfers, so that made it even easier. The second time the surf point was a bit more crowded (in June there were only 3 spots that could be surfed, so they tended to get a bit crowded). But he made sure to never put me out on a wave with too many others. So happy I got to learn from him. On a side note, he's also an excellent safari guide. I swear he has bionic eyes. He showed us crocodiles, lizards, elephants, jackals, all sorts of birds, a sloth bear and even a Leopard!

Arugam bay is a surfer village. There are surf shops at every step, and every salesman and tuk-tuk driver says that he is a surf teacher. But that's not true! If you do not want to be disappointed in surfing your best choice will be excellent school ! The owners of this school are two brothers Dulip and Lesitha, they are all about surfing."No surf no life"
Dulip is a professional surf teacher,he will teach you to enjoy surfing! He will guide you with safety in the water first! I had a lessons before with another teacher in another school,he didn't tell me how to catch the board, how to hold the board according to waves, and etc.,so i get big hematoma at my hip.
And then Dulip will teach you and give you advices that way so you can surf by yourself soon! He is not interested in your money! He loves when his learner makes progress!
And your practice will be with fun !
Love this place!

Of my time in Sri Lanka the week in Arugam Bay was probably the best thanks to this surf school. My brother and me had one lesson before in the south where they taught us to stand up on the board in a really weird way. Our surf teacher Lani showed us how to stand up correctly and the surfing went way better right away! The surf instructors were all super nice and funny and I can only recommend checking the surf school out if you want to learn how to surf. Also they take you to beaches that correspond your "level" so it isn't too hard or too easy to catch the waves and they give you great tips to improve.

We got to Arugam bay during low season and to be honest, didn't expect good surf from the look of the ocean. However, Dulip showed us some other surf points where we were completely alone and rhe surf was enough for us (beginner/intermediate). Dulip is very friendly, speaks very good english and focus a lot on his students having fun. During the 3 days we surfed we Dulip, we had a lot of fun! He even brought us one night to a rock close by Arugam bay for elephant watching. Highly recommend Dulip and his surf school!
