Now I know that Indiana Jones never really went gold mining but this mine was a true adventure. Beyond the outskirts of the town, this ran down, tucked away, mine, is nothing to miss. For 10 bucks, this gold mine is rustic with many assets hands on! Great for Kids! The best part was gold panning at the end. There... More

Great time at the mine. Wonderful tour guide. Did some gold panning in the stream and it was fun. We found a little gold! The water was super cold though in April. Would have stayed all day long if we hadn't had other plans. Going back in January, but I'm sure it will be way too cold to pan.

This tour was fun, exciting, and very informative! The guide was excellent. He was so friendly, and so excited about mining! My two daughters, ages 15 and 12, thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it if you're ever in the area!

Had a great tour with Hank......lots of history here and a great deal for only $10 a person. When your done with the tour continue up the road for a beautiful ride past a bunch of other mining history!!!

On our way to the Denver airport, we had some extra time and decided to stop by the Phoenix Gold Mine. We had our own private tour by a local (Hank) who was full of information (and jokes!). The tour was resonably priced.

This was very interesting and informative. Given by the real miners. The owner of the mine greets you. Takes about 40 minutes.

Enjoyed visit to mine. The guide is very knowledgeable and is very good with small children. The owner of the mine, who was greeting people out front, is interesting to chat with and has written some books about mining that are for sale at the mine. The gold panning is very good at the site also. They give a good... More

This gold mine tour is not difficult, long, or taxing for those with physical disabilities, so it's something everyone can enjoy. The price is very reasonable, and worth every cent. Please make sure to tip the tour guide, since they are all volunteers who do this for the love of history. If you are just a little bit superstitious...okay....I'm a... More

We visited the mine with our family member who has a severe intellectual disability (name: Richard). It was his first time in the mountains and he loves sparkly things so we thought this would be a good activity for him. We got there when it opened and explained we just wanted to do panning. They started talking to Richard and... More

I stopped by the Phoenix Gold Mine and since I was the only visitor there at the time, I was treated to my own private tour! Dave, my guide, was informative, humorous, and took the time to answer all my questions. I believe all the staff working with the tours are volunteers, so please don't forget to leave them a...
