Nice family experience - had my parents and 2 boys, 8 and 11. Good information, nice guide who entertained and answered all of our questions. They teach you the proper way to pan gold as well and don't swindle you on this part! each person...More

The entire tour was well managed, and our guide was exceptional. Extremely interesting. Panning for gold was really fun. A very unusual, historical experience. The entry fee is a bit too high, there is no senior discount, and the child's fee is only applied up...More

This was probably more interesting to adults than young children. The video room and bus weren't in the best of shape. A little run-down.

We went in not know what to expect. Our tour guide Ryan was open to questions and possessed a wealth of knowledge. We enjoyed panning for gold and learning about the history of the mine. I will say the woman who checked us in for...More

I came here for a tour with my boyfriend while we were on a cross country road trip and had such a enjoyable time! The tour was more than simply standing in different rooms, but rather immersive and interactive. Not only that, our tour guide...More

Ernie is a great tour guide - patient and welcoming with kids and a fun sense of humor. The tour is ripe with history and a unique opportunity to walk thru the complete mining operation. The extra panning for gems experience for kids ($12) is...More

We had a great time on the tour. The tour was a little over an hour, including a view of the tunnel that was sealed off and the actual gold mill. This is not a mine, but that was fine with me. The tour guide...More

Showed up on our way From Utah and wanted to see this tour, it is closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Looked at the stuff outside but didn’t learn anything. Disappointing, but would certainly like to return and take the tour.

We happened on this little old gold mine on a trek through the Rocky Mountains. The tour was through the original mine and a small portion of the tunnel that is now closed off due to water. Very interesting.

We took the tour at the Argo Mill. It proved to provide insights to gold mining and processing in the late 19th and early 20th Century. Our tour guide, Jessamine, was knowledgeable providing facts and answering questions.

Hell there. You walk into it, is a more accurate description. It’s a tunnel bored into the side of a hill. It’s spacious and well lit with a solid walking path. You will go 110’ in. There is a sturdy wooden deck outside... More

I don't think that gems are a part of the panning activity at the ARGO mine; just gold. Of course it's a simulated and staged activity meant to give the visitor an idea of the patience which was required of those who did it... More

Yes, you are allowed to pan in the nearby river. They also teach you how to pan there at the museum with bags of sand that contain about 4 small gold nuggets.
