We visited on a day they were not officially opened. We phoned ahead and Judy met us there. The 'garden' is interesting. Both my wife and I felt something while walking through the garden. It is a small place on a ranch right off of highway 17. Glad we went. Great place to take kids. We plan to back in... More

We didn't know about this place until we accidentally discovered we were driving the Cosmic Highway and saw the watchtower! We wanted to stop but we were all pretty tired and anxious to get to our hotel. Now I wished we had stopped because it looked pretty cool. We did read stories about it and kept an eye on the... You must keep an open mind - and it would help if you googled this place first to understand that it is "serious" and has had documentaries and books written about it. But they have added humor at the same time. We didn't know what to expect, and kept it light, and had a fun time. The "Healing Garden" was... More

I drove home from the Sand Dunes 3 years ago and kept seeing these cheesy hand painted signs along the highway along the lines of "For a cosmic experience, turn here" accompanied with little green stuffed martian toys. I asked my friend then if we could stop but she said no, she just wanted to get home, so on we... More

This was such a fun place to stop. It is in the middle of nowhere, but it is well worth the stop. The views alone are fantastic. This is along the "cosmic highway", and sightings are common in the area. Climb the stairs to see what you can. You can experience the "vortex" in the area and see all the... More

Cruising along from Moffat to Alamosa, we knew to be looking for this UFO watchtower. It was easy to spot so we stopped to check it out. It was an interesting fun place to stop.

We'd been reading about this place for a while, and it did not disappoint. We decided to camp on the grounds for the full experience. When we pulled in we got to hear a full history of the Watchtower and about the garden below the tower. What fun! The campsite was great, and we had fun watching the stars and... More

Step aside Roswell its the San Luis Valley that boasts the most UFO sightings. On you pilgrimage across the Cosmic Highway (HWY 17) make sure you stop by the UFO watchtower to feel the vortexes, leave behind an offering and chat it up Judy. Well worth the suggested $2 donation because you'll be talking about your experience for weeks to... More

A great little stop if you happen to be on 17 in San Luis Valley of Colorado. Lots of neat info inside the building with Alien themed kitsch for sale. You must walk through the vortex garden and see all the artifacts left by fellow travelers. Bring something to leave if you can. The owner is wonderful to talk to... More

Located on a lonesome stretch of the San Luis Valley, the UFO Watchtower is situated in the middle of one of the most active UFO-sighting areas on the planet. Plan to spend plenty of time talking with Judy, the proprietor, who will regale you with local UFO lore and stories about her personal meetings with aliens. The shop is full... More
