You need a break anyway

If you're driving by make the stop. This is a unique little place with a lot to see. No one was manning the watchtower when I was there -may add to your experience. There's a... read more

The UFO Watchtower in Hooper, Colorado has been one of my favorite places to visit in this state for more than 8 years now. My wife and I first discovered this place back in May of 2008, and have been drawn back to it repeatedly ever since then. There is definitely an unusual vibe there, but it's not something everyone... A unique place to stop on the way to Salida or Alamosa but not something that I would have done otherwise. I'm not sure what I think about UFO sightings but there are many stories that are described in the gift shop. People just leave items on the site and there is a small tower to view. Would be a... Very interesting and fun little place to stop for a roadisde break. The owner was there when we arrived. She was very pleasant and told us a lot about the history of the area, why she built the watch tower, etc. There is even a book where she collects people's UFO encounter stories. Very interesting! The garden area was unique... More

Amazing! In the middle of nowhere. Too funny for words. Desert scenery and nice paved road. There is an alligator farm next to it and a bed and breakfast named GiGi's. I promise no relation. Must see to believe

Weird place. Im not a big believer in the whole UFO thing so consider this a review from a skeptic. The minimal entrance fee combined with the odd aura of this place makes it worth the vist if u happen to be nearby. It is in a remote area and we had just finished a visit to great sand dunes... We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend with a group of Boy Scouts aged 12-17. Everyone had a blast! The campground is clean and flat with a gorgeous view of the mountains and the dunes. There kids enjoyed hanging out on the tower, eyeing the curiosities in the garden, and the open space to play kick ball. We had fun... More

If you're looking to get away and look up at the stars to see whats really out there then this is true place to visit! My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice now, once camping at the watchtower and second staying at GG's Bed and Breakfast. I would recommend GG's Bed and Breakfast to anyone as well! Great stay... We visited on a day they were not officially opened. We phoned ahead and Judy met us there. The 'garden' is interesting. Both my wife and I felt something while walking through the garden. It is a small place on a ranch right off of highway 17. Glad we went. Great place to take kids. We plan to back in... More
