Such a cool place for family from youngest to oldest. Between the working farm experience and the train cars the model train display is amazing. Everyone will have a good time at this whistle stop!

This was my first trip to Cross Ochards. I only spent an hour there, but could have spent several hours! They have information about the Cross Orchard as the name implies, but a lot more also about the local Railroad.

The last time we went there was no staff and the weeds were all grown up and no animals, etc. No gift shop, no maintenance. It was truly sad to see it go down hill. We use to take the kids in the morning to have fresh molasses cookies made in the old oven in the back house on the property. The ladies were always so kind!

If you or your kids like trains, this is the place to go in Grand Junction. They have an amazing model train setup that will blow you away! They even have an outdoor model train track. Then there is so much more with all the historic buildings, trains etc. Great place to explore, learn and have a great family time!

We have been exploring the small museums and restored towns in Colorado. This one has so much potential but really needs some love. And - I gave it a very good based on the potential and also the shear history and beauty of the place. There are great displays of old farm equipment, packing areas for fruit, old bunkhouses and homes. There are train cars and lovely orchards. What is needed is an on site docent or two, a visitor center with information and better signage. There are guided tours and perhaps you can find one available in the summer. We were there early fall on a Friday afternoon and really didn't see anyone around (other than us tourists). What is here - is great. There are blooms throughout the summer and fall to enjoy. Kids love clamoring on the train cars and looking in the windows of the houses. There are farmer's markets held here. I love the venue and hope somehow more funding becomes available to restore this.
