If you have some time to kill ,driving the loop is okay. Some touristy stops, views are just okay along the route. Getting onto the loop is tricky - would suggest stopping in Golden at the Visitors Info Center to get clear directions from town...More

Loop up to Lookout from Golden, and then loop down to I-70 on the other side of mountain. Amazing view with little time commitment. Definitely worth it.

My daughter had never seen snow so I wanted to take her into the mountains. This was an amazing road trip and the views were spectacular. spent half the day driving through the mountains and it was well worth it.
