Great for young kids and train enthusiasts!

Stopped by the museum just as it was closing, so we visited the gift shop and picked up a map of the exhibits to plan for our visit the next morning. Arrived early the next morning. Paid for admission and purchased additional tickets to ride on the museums circular track on the Galloping Goose----one of the remaining hybrid narrow gauge... More

Drove from Pikes Peak area because web site showed that the next day was "Ride the Rails" day from 10am to 3pm with the gooses and a diesel with passenger car....NOT! got there a little after noon, was told the next ride would not be until 2pm - only the diesel was running - gooses only run on Saturday -... The museum is small and expensive at $10 per adult. The train ride was ok. Really nothing special. I think you'd really only enjoy this place if you're really into trains.

Was very disappointed as the price was higher than most train museums we have visited and one of the worst as they had very few of the trains open for you to look into and the exhibits were very poor. Would not recommend for the price.

We've visited several times over the years and my kids have always enjoyed it, from baby to 9 y.o. The Thomas The Tank Engine /Train event (September for the past several years) is always popular and great fun! (There are lines, but so much to do, lines can be avoided-it's your choice.) This time, we went during summer vacation and... More

Historic rollingstock. Functioning steam locomotives. Galloping geese. Vintage railcars. Books museum and archives. What a great place to spend all or part of the day. Bring your camera.

Spent about an hour here. Teenagers not very interested but grandparents enjoyed it more! Take the train ride around the outside of the railyard on the train made from a car ... they tell you the history. Both model trains and full size can be seen. The full size roundhouse and turntable will bring Thomas the Tank Engine to life... More

Been to better railway museums (Illinois Railway Museum is 10 times larger) and this one was so-so. The train ride was cool but came after you walked the grounds, only to circle the grounds 3 more times. I would pass...would have done the Coors Tour but it was closed ☹️

Went after hearing a radio ad and I had a "free" day following a wedding. Nice collection of trains I'm not normally around as a Canadian, and a really unique Galloping Goose ride. I wish more equipment could be walked through but appreciate the complications that come with that. For $10 it's a great deal considering the extent and quality... More
