2 lane winding road up. Great views all the way. Beautiful overlooks. Fun store to nose around and buy souvenirs. Extra treat to walk up to Buffalo Bills grave.

Great drive if you want to escape from the bustles of downtown. Watch for parasailers as you motor up the windy road and remember to give cyclists room because they're probably hypoxic! The Museum at the top is really interesting with all sorts of old artifacts. Say hello to Buffalo Bill. Instead of going back the way you came, continue... More

One our favorite things we did during the week in Colorado. The views were great - stop and enjoy them. I grew up driving sharp curves and had a blast driving this mountain - most fun I had.

Took half a day to explore some of the trails on Lookout Mountain. Great hiking, anywhere from easy to difficult. Lots of scenic views with stops along the way from the bottom to the top, on both sides. The museum and gravesite at the top is worth a stop for sure.

We took the Chimney Gulch Trail from the bottom of the mountain to the lookout Mountain. It's a 2.5 hour hike with great view along the way. The hike is moderate, we can see a lot of other hikers. The view at the top of the mountain is great, you can see the city of Denver as well as Golden.... More

Drive into the Rockies and you'll often have breathtaking views of mountains. Drive up Lookout Mountain and you will have much of the greater Denver area laid out before you letting you spot Denver in the distance and other landmarks. It's a quick ride from Golden up a twisty road.

We (myself, my wife, and our 2 kids aged 15& 12) recently visited before leaving Denver. Easy drive from downtown Denver where our hotel was. Took us right around 15-20 minutes to get there. Plenty of parking, trails, photo opportunities, etc...
