Buffalo Bill was a fascinating character. He organized a traveling circus exhibition to show the world what life in the old West had been including almost 100 actors and Americans (his nomenclature for Native Americans). In the time of his presentations, the late 1800s this must've been a spectacular effort. When in Italy he met the Pope and stayed with... More

Learn all about the life and legend of Buffalo Bill here. There are lots of artifacts from his life on display. Very nicely done, well worth the small price of admission. From the grave site on a clear day you can see Denver, 15 miles to the east. The gift store is packed with souvenirs. A very good history lesson... More

We decided to take the drive up the mountain to see the resting place of Buffalo Bill. It was about 6:30 by the time we pulled into the parking lot, so the crowd had thinned. The view is amazing---photos can't capture the expansive panoramic view from the top. Plan for about 30-45 minutes to see everything.

I had no idea Lookout Mountain was where Buffalo Bill is buried. It's a great place to swing by if your passing through but not really a destination compared to others close by.

This looked very small from the outside, but the majority is under ground. LOTS of history and artifacts. Great exhibits. Well worth the very reasonable admission fee! It started raining so we decide to give it a shot, and glad we did!

We stopped here almost as a joke, only to learn that Buffalo Bill was really quite the influence on history! The museum is well worth the $5 charge, and the views of Golden, CO are very nice from the mountain.

Stopped here on a whim. It had some great views of Golden. Was also able to see some lightning headed towards the city. We paid the small fee to go through the museum. I think it was 5 bucks. Worth the small fee to see and read some history. If your looking souvenirs the gift shop has a bunch of... More

Place is a little worn out but other than that it is perfect place to visit to get a small history lesson. The best part of the visit are the views of Denver and the surrounding mtns.
