We ended up there because there was no parking at Hanging Lake and I was determined to hike. I am a huge fan of history, and I like old cemeteries anyway. The star of the show is Doc Holliday's marker, but even if you aren't...More

We hiked up to the cemetery to burn off some energy when we got to Glenwood. The kids learned some western history and stretched their legs.

We did the hike on a rainy day, so it wasn't too hot. The trailhead sits in a neighborhood, we parked on the street. The hike to the cemetary is half a mile uphill on a dirt/rocky trail. I am not used to the altitude...More

They do warn you that this is the trail head and you have to walk to the grave site. It was a pretty steep walk probably a little over a quarter of a mile. The payoff is mild, there is a marker, but there is...More

well (spoilers) this is not his grave site but a memorial marker he might be buried here and probably is but there is no actual record of it just the assumption that he was buried in the potters field that people with no money were...More

Hike above Glenwood Springs to see old tombstones and the graveyard (not the exact spot) where Doc Holliday was buried. There is a tombstone with Doc Holliday’s name with perhaps an ace of spades and some coins left on the monument.

The road to the gravesite is poorly marked. We climbed several small, brushy hills trying to find it and finally gave up, as it was hot and we were tired. We were disappointed, but managed to visit the Doc Holliday Harley Davidson shop instead

We thought this would be fun, turns out it took a bit of time to hike to the top of the mountain where the cemetery was located. Take water, and don't wait too late as there are no lights on the trail in/out.

Got up one morning and decide to check this out. Parked on the street near the trailhead. An all uphill walk, but not too bad if you take your time. There were quite a few irresponsible pet owners who walked there dogs up as there...More

It is a bit of a hike uphill on a rough track about 30 mins or so . It was snow covered when I did it but dry now. It is an old graveyard with good views down into the valley. If you can't walk much , then I would think it... More

Some sports team that was visiting and hiked up put the ribbons on the tree about three years ago. No active story. It was really pretty when it happened.
