Excellent. Rented from here twice during our week stay in Glenwood Springs. Samantha and Zach were excellent - the rad wagos were actually sold out and they took our information and called when there was a cancellation. So glad they did. It was one of the highlights of the trip! Rented two 'rad wagons' for a family ride along the river path (1 adult and 1 child on each, 6 and 8 year olds fit great, but 8ish is nearing the max for the second rider). VERY glad we did not bring our own traditional bikes, as the e-bikes made the few hills effortless. The path is 17 miles along the colorado river, (and only a few blocks from the bike store) one of the best bike trails I've ever seen. You can stop and watch people rafting down the river, enjoy some rest stops with water and bathrooms, pack a lunch, etc. The second time I rented an e-bike solo (a smaller version of the rad bike) and went the entire trail and back, for 33 glorious miles.

The bike store was excellent. The Glenwood Canyon bike trail was flooded and closed, so instead they shuttled us to the Rio Grand Trail and we road our bikes downhill and flat back to the bike store. The service was excellent, the bikes were excellent. It was not busy on a weekday, so they even shuttled us 1/2 hour earlier than scheduled since we were ready. I recommend this bike store.

Booked 2 normal bikes online before we arrived and they were right next door to where we were staying which was handy. We didn't encounter that many others on our ride and we were really impressed with the facility's on the way and they were very well looked after, only had to get off our bikes once on the way back to get up the last hill.
The staff were very helpful so all in all a very good experience.

We rented bikes on our anniversary and were greeted with great service from a family operation. We upgraded to the demo bikes which were bikes we were more used to and they were great. Highly recommend this company for bike rental. The Glenwood Canyon ride was beautiful and we got to experience on day of Eclipse.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bikes were in great condition and you have lots of options in terms of type of bike and rental duration.
We rented cruisers / townies by the hour. The rental place is very close to the canyon trails.

Our experience with Canyon Bikes was everything we hoped for and more. The bike rental and shuttle ride were handled without a hiccup, and the staff (particularly Erin) was so generous in sharing tips on hiking paths, other bike routes in town, how to put the bikes on the city bus, and kind enough to help us look for a lost phone. I highly recommend!

Reserved rentals and a shuttle after reading reviews on here that convinced me by 9 and 7 year old could do it. As we rode on the shuttle out the canyon to the drop off point, the path seemed more flat than downhill and I wondered if I had made a mistake- i just couldnt see one of my boys hanging in there for that long of a trip and figured I might be making a call to come pick us up somewhere along the way.
Thankfully, i was wrong. Even though both boys had minor mishaps along the way (plus one fight) we had a great time on this beautiful bike path. Took us about three hours, with a few short pit stops along the way for snacks or just to enjoy the view.
The Canyon Bike people were courteous and patient in making sure the kids were comfortable with their bikes and helmets.
Was one of the hilites of our trip to Colorado.
Just be aware- there is one spot where you go through a parking lot under the highway that is a spot for putting rafters in the water. my 9 year old had gotten ahead of us and it was slightly confusing for a moment where the bikepath continued, and we werent sure where he was for a moment.

We were bummed that the Glenwood Canyon trail was closed but the Rio Grande trail was beautiful! It really is mostly downhill through country, close to the river, and through the town of Glenwood Springs. The bikes were new and easy to ride. Great service and staff. Everything was super easy. Loved it!

Canyon bikes has a wonderful set up to reserve bikes online for the next day’s adventure. The rental shop was a bit difficult for us to find or find parking, but once we did get there, they were super helpful. They had our bikes ready, a sweet girl to help us individually with instructions and questions. The driver showed us trail locations on our drive to the drop off spot. We were able to hike hanging lake trail after a bit of biking and finish our bike ride along the beautiful river, mostly downhill. We will definitely do this again.

We stayed at the hot springs lodge and this was part of our hotel package. They take you 14 miles up the canyon with your bikes and drop you off. Takes several hours to come back, but we had fun. Stopped and hiked hanging lake on our way. Weather was really hot - we were tired once we were done, but were glad we did it.

Looking to do an 8:30 shuttle and bike package. We are young and in decent shape and were planning to do Hanging Lake Trail in addition. Is it possible to be down to return our bikes by 1:45 without rushing through it? Also, when can we expect to be dropped off at the top of the canyon? Ie- does the shuttle actually leave at 8:30?
Thanks!

Not sure when you are planning this. New rules starting this spring regarding access to the lake. Regardless the issues getting a permit, I think your 5-1/2 hour timeframe is tight. If you could give yourself more time you would enjoy more time at the lake, do the side trip to the spouting horn, spend more time by the river, maybe have a pinic lunch.
As for your other questions, our tour left a little late, but it was due to others in the party not showing up on time, not the operator's fault. We were up the canyon and on our bikes within 15 to 20 minutes from departure.

How long does it take to walk to the hanging lake from the bike trail?
Written July 4, 2018
Hi Chrisina,
From the trailhead of Hanging Lake to the lake itself, the distance one direction is just over 1.2 miles with an elevation gain 1200'. Most of our groups average 2.5 - 3.5 hours for the hike.
Enjoy!!
