    You MUST go!
My wife, 16 year old grandson and I went to the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue for the first time this past weekend. I told them to expect bad food and corny jokes, but we would give it a try, and I am so glad we did! I had a margarita, and it was very good with the Milagro tequila. The food was from local restaurants, and my wife’s meatloaf and grandson’s spaghetti with meatballs were both very good. I opted for chicken tikka masala - that was a mistake. The sauce was skimpy, the dish was cold and the chicken was tough. But, hey, 2 out of 3 exceeded my expectations, and the (cold) apple pie desert was wonderful. But food is not why you go - it is all about the show and even the corny jokes were well presented. The cast was very talented, and engaged readily with the audience. The acts were nicely mixed - jokes, songs, sleight of hand magic. One had a good sense that this was a neighborly show in a small community with lots of friendship. I and my family left with big smiles on our faces. GO!

    Super fun night
Wonderfully entertaining evening, it’s fun for a wide range of ages. Very versatile performers, and even an extremely talented dog, Rio, who greeted people while she ‘napped’ in the lobby. (Note to cast, I think you should record “Aspen Girl”.) Dinner was good, portions were plentiful and hot and served quickly and efficiently. Our server was excellent, as well as being part of the troupe! Crowd ranged from young children to senior citizens, and something for everyone. From the moment you’re greeted at the front door until you’re leaving the theater everyone is so friendly, so helpful, and so much fun! Rio was at the door to say goodnight, too! Excellent value for the cost, and one I intend to enjoy again. Reservations are necessary, seating is assigned in banquet tables. Make an evening of it. You won’t regret it.

Fun, non pretentious, entertaining and crazy.
We were planning our trip in the States and when we saw this in Gleenwood we knew we had to go. It was even better than expected! We were arriving by train and, despite our expected time off arrival was at 1:46pm, we almost did not make It. But the staff was very helpful

Fabulous Fun for the Whole Family- Even Teenage Boys!
I wasn't sure about reserving tickets because my husband and I were in town for the weekend with our 12 and 15 year old sons. With that said, when I asked both boys what their favorite part of the weekend was, they both said the "Modern Vaudeville Review". This group really put their hearts and spirit into the performance and the show was really in depth and diverse. There truly was something for everyone. It's a special memory that my family and I will cherish. Food wise, the bread & dip and chips & guac were delicious.

A belly full of laughs (and food)!
Loved everything about this show from the concept (waitstaff serves, then performs) to the skits (topical but harmless fun) to the overall atmosphere. The owner John was everywhere all the time, making us feel welcome as soon as we entered, checking on us frequently, then entertaining us with his magnificent charm and hilarious stage presence! Overall, the ensemble had great chemistry and it was clear they really loved what they do. Audience participation was the cherry on top as the show was very inviting and welcomed all to join along in the fun! Thanks, John!

Super funny for the older teen and adults
Omg this was hilarious. I’ve been at least 2-3 times over the years and I think this was the best content I remember. The food is adequate but you really don’t come for the food. I must say some of the songs are really PG-13. Some of the really young kids probably didn’t get it but it made me a little uncomfortable and glad I didn’t have little kids. The talent is amazing and the writing top notch. Make time to go see this!

    A real gem!!
We had a great time at The Glenwood Vaudeville Revue!!! It’s a nice family atmosphere and a fun dinner show. We laughed so much. The cast were truly amazing!! They even have one of the original Wurlitzer photoplayers made by the Bartola Musical Instrument Company of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It was originally used during the boom era of silent films. It’s one of only a few that are still used today.

Very funny and witty for comedy
Family funny parodies, regional digs at folks from ski town up the mountains and many original lyrics to songs we know. Skits, magic, tap dancing. Altogether a very enjoyable evening! Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

We had mixed emotions about the Vaudeville. The performers are talented and many of the bits are funny. Early in the show the leader says that comedy 'toes the line', but they will leave some subjects (politics) out. They might consider leaving a few more out. It also matters HOW you are approaching the line. It got beyond poor taste; the feeling was often punching down or 'us vs them'. It added up to a good 50% of the show, making it hard to enjoy things.

–Mental health. Several skits where built around this 'joke': "those" people are weak and/or making it up. –A Jewish character shows up a few times.. that's the joke. Fake Hasidic curls, shouts some fake-Yiddish. There's no interaction with the show or skit. Just 'here is a Jew, isn't that hilarious?'
–The DUI song. Similar to mental health, a problem is getting people to take it seriously. The joke here is "DUI's are no big deal and inherently funny". I can't imagine watching this if your family has been affected by a drunk driver. We saw this in December, coincidentally that morning's Glenwood paper had a writeup about NYE drinking and DUIs in the area in 2019. The count was in the 70's or 80's.
–"She's too young for me!" jokes about 2 teen female performers 5 or 6 times. Only one sketch was remotely adult, no one was thinking about this until you brought it up over and over. Once is an eye roll but the repetition, always and only by one guy (an older man, a community pillar, their boss) felt gross.

You can certainly make comedy about sensitive or even taboo subjects. You just need to think harder than the Vaudeville seems to be. If they're worried 'the kids won't get it', maybe choose some different topics for the family show.

Again, the performers are talented and seem to care. I bothered writing this because the owner solicits feedback on trip advisor. The show was packed with locals who could not stop raving about the Vaudeville and the performers. They are eating out of your hand! I am NOT suggesting the Vaudeville become some educational experience. I AM suggesting the Vaudeville think a little harder about what values and norms they help their community set.

So weird. I purposely purchased a non dining ticket for a Louie & The lizards show. The ticket said doors were at 6:30 and the show was 7:30. The venue called me at 7:22 to make sure I was still planning on attending. When we arrived at 7:40 several members of the staff including performers kept saying “Glad you made it”. It felt like such a backhanded complement for being “late”...Shortly after arrival, it became apparent that they waited for us to start the show. This experience was so awkward and uncomfortable we ended up leaving after one round of drinks.

This wonderful theater has its site goes with COVID restrictions closing them down, opening up, closing down again. But they’ve persevered! With the support of local businesses, patrons, and prior audience members, they raised the funds to keep the doors open!
We had the pleasure of watching their first show back, a combination of shows that were supposed to be, and shows revamped for the current climate.
Hilarious!
The cast is an amazing ensemble of singers, dancers, comedians, and story tellers.
It was a clean show, family friendly, with subtle adult humor to keep you rolling on the floor.
Every staff member was so hospitable, clean, inviting atmosphere, anyone coming through Glenwood should make it a “must do”.

Truly, a "must do" in Glenwood Springs! A really fun evening started with a delicious and affordable dinner and drinks coordinated with local restaurants (wonderful business to business associations). During dinner the fun began as the players showcased their individual talents with fun, short numbers. But then....the show began with an splendid array of numbers by the Glenwood Springs Vaudeville performers! The show was hilarious with something for everyone in the family! Wonderful musical numbers, dancing was great fun...and the costumes and MANY costume changes...all was wonderfully entertaining with lots and lots of laughs. John Goss, you have assembled an amazing group of performers, and you are the multi talented head of pack. My hat is off to a wonderful Glenwood Springs evening!

This is our fourth visit from Australia and we just love the Vaudeville NYE show! This year we went to the early show with our 11 year old twin nieces and had a ball. It is a wonderfully witty, cleverly written show performed by a great cast who clearly love it too. Well done John Goss and your troupe!

The food was yummy, the waiters who turned out to be the cast were spectacular and I'm still singing their songs two days later laughing how funny their performance was! We had our toddler with us who didn't understand much of the show but enjoyed the laughing and clapping during the show. During intermission she got a little tired but the bartender gave her some gummy bears and she was back to watching the performance and clapping along. The Vaudeville is AMAZING weekend entertainment. Their acts included alot of covid laughs and it made it light hearted during a hectic time to make us smile. This was our first time in Glenwood Springs and it is definitely #1 on the list of things to do if you come to town!! We booked tickets from seeing a pamphlet in our hotel lobby and it needs to be advertised on a billboard! John the owner is a performer and his business deserves every penny! First dinner comedy show also and this is on our list to look for when we visit other new towns. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We live in Glenwood Springs and the Vaudeville Revue is something that we not only love to go to but we enjoy taking our visiting guests to as well,. The talent of the performers in this small town production is top notch! You would expect to get a small town cheesy show but it really is an impressive experience. The singing, dancing and the humor is enjoyed by all ages and you leave the venue with your cheeks and belly hurting from laughing so hard. This is a must see when you come to visit the Roaring Fork Valley!

Wow! What a great review. Thanks so much for the positive comments. We work hard to create a ridiculously fun but quality show that people can relate to. I hope you'll get a chance to see our next big show "Into The Woods" opening Feb. 7th. Thanks again.

We absolutely loved the show! We go every year to most every show, and we continue to be impressed and entertained by the great talent and humor. We are also impressed by the hard work these folks put into each and every show. They not only perform the show itself, but they do all the table waiting and serving! What a fantastic asset they all are to our Valley!

Absolutely wonderful experience. My partner & I visited from Denver to take in the show for Valentine's Day, and we didn't quite know what to expect, but the folks at the Vaudeville do it all. From leading you to your seats, preparing and serving food and drinks, performing all night, and cleaning it all up, the sheer amount of work they put into your experience is incredible, and with such positivity and enthusiasm. The food was delicious, the show was HILARIOUS, and we couldn't stop laughing. Plus, they were SO COVID conscious in seating, performing, mask mandating, you name it; it felt safe and conscientious the entire time. My partner lamented that it was over for the whole last song. We can't wait to get to come back and experience the Vaudeville again in the future.
