I assumed this was going to be an easy hike since it was sort of “touristy”. NOPE - it is hard. Come prepared with good shoes, lots of water (we went thru 3 bottles in the way up), and the mental preparedness to go up, up,up over rocks. It was all worth it. Beautiful scenery. And make sure to take the side trail to the waterfall - that was the highlight for our kids.

The hike to Hanging Lake is beautiful. It is a lake in the middle of a mountain. It is wonderful! You have to make reservations and take a shuttle in from Glenwood Springs. If you can hike of the groom's trail that is a little rocky, it's well worth the hike..

This hike was mostly through forest, but once you arrived at the lake...it was spectacular and worth the hike! The waterfall was worth seeing also. We were 2 families with kids ranging in age from 9 years old to 13 years old and one of the kids is not that into hiking, but everyone enjoyed this hike and it was a very doable 2-3 hour hike round trip (for those with limited hiking interest)

Absolutely stunning views! Clean, pristine mountain wilderness. Hanging lake and waterfalls are incredible. It’s a tough hike— rocky terrain, but well worth the effort. Saw a bull snake, marmot, lizard and stellar jay. Bring lots of water!

One of the most beautiful things I've ever scene. It is worth the hike, but it is a VERY hard hike. If you have trouble with steps, don't attempt. We went at 5pm which was probably a good time. It is as pretty as the photos you see. A photographers dream.
