My friends and I hiked this trail last Monday. I absolutely loved it! It's a steep incline and the parking lot fills quickly but it was well worth the effort!!! We were going to have to wait over an hour to get into the parking lot so we parked a few exits up and walked a few miles to get... More

The good: lots of people are motivated by the beauty of this place to get out and hike - there were many people on the trail who did not fit the usual hiker mold. The bad: the trail has been altered to accommodate all those people. The trail was ridiculously crowded - we made the error of going on a... More

This is a must be when you drivin I-70. The lake is so pretty and it's all the going up the hill worth it. The trail its steep, uneven and rocky. It about 1,2 mi from the trailhead and gains 1000ft elevation in 1mi.

This is a must if you like to hike. While many suggest it is challenging, plenty of people were quote able to do it. Wear good shoes and expect to take at least 2 to 3 hours if you are in to stopping, taking pictures and looking around. Heed the warnings that suggest getting there early (no later than around... We did the trail/hike on a Wednesday afternoon in the summer in the hottest part of the day. First of all, be patient with parking...when we got there we were 20 cars back and it took about 20 minutes to park which isn't bad. The hike can be a bit strenuous at times, but manageable for sure. Once you get... More

Be sure to be there before 7:30 am and you'll be fine. Beautiful though not exactly easy, saw some old ladies doing the climb in flip flops and some families with babies. I would definitely recommend hiking shoes, no idea how folks manage in flip flops.

Believe the reviews that tell you to get there early if not be prepared to wait 30-60 minutes for a spot. The hike is not easy but the view from the lake makes everything worth it.

Our family loved this hike. We are two adults who like to hike and 2 teenagers (15,17) and a 10 year old that don't necessarily like to hike or to get up at 6am so they can get a parking spot. We arrived at parking at 7:45am and there were probably 15 spots left that filled up by 8am. Trail... More

This was a great hike for the family. It is strenuous and uphill but well worth it. If you make it all the way to the lake, go a little further to the waterfall, it is worth it.

My husband and I decided to hike Hanging Lake on a weekday in late June. It was a hot day, and we didn't get to the parking lot early enough to get an immediate parking spot, but people were exiting the lot pretty quickly so we waited about 20 mins for a parking spot. Recommendation: get there by 8:00 a.m.... More
